By any slim chance does anyone have either screenshots or a chart perhaps on the sizes of all these over sized monsters? Just curious about how big they are all relative to each other. I've seen how big Dreads are in comparison to Battleships but thats about it. Post'm if you got'm. :)

That is the smaller version of the ship chart. On the full-size version you can see the Damsel in Distress that's circled in the corner next to the Eiffel Tower. Really puts things in perspective. ---

Caldari battleships look much smaller then the other races. Also the mass and volume in the show info for dreads and frieghters shows them as having same mass and volume.Clearly does not seem to be the case.

Someone posted an estimate of the minmatar titan being approx. 18km long.
So that image could only show half it's length.

Gebus ... that is awsome. Guess it just needs to be updated for the Titans and Motherships now. :)

There was a rumour at one point that a dev had confirmed that the Caldari BSes were produced at half specified size in beta and it's never been changed.

Size: Titans > Dreads > Carriers > Battleships
On a personal note: I'm dissapointed by the size of DNs, could have been bigger.

"Someone posted an estimate of the minmatar titan being approx. 18km long.

Funny tidbit, when the current Minmatar titan model was included in the game, the 'physical' model was ~7.5 km long and well, that seemed rather disappointing with the Minmatar dreadnaught being ~5 km tall.
this has then been changed and the current, updated version of Minmatar titan is indeed 18 km long.
Wonder if it grows any larger before RMR patch is finished ;s

"hmmm, the apoc looks a bit bigger than it should be, only shows up as 800m long on overview"
The overview shows value based on ship "radius" attribute (not to be mistaken with signature radius) ... this is only roughly related to the ship's actual size and is more of a helper for collision detection system and stuff like that, iirc ^^;;

Shame they don't fix that, all Battleships bar the Apocalypse are smaller than Battlecruisers. Cruisers and everything else seem ok, it's just Battleship sizes that are incorrect...

The chart seems wrong.I took my breacher right up behind a typhoon and it looked to be the size of a bellicose judging from this chart.

"The chart seems wrong.I took my breacher right up behind a typhoon and it looked to be the size of a bellicose judging from this chart."
The way EVE camera works makes it really tricky to judge the size of objects onscreen ^^
the differences become apparent only when you put ships really close together, and zoom the camera out so your ship being right in front of it doesn't distort the view.
In the example you give, in order to be as big as Belicose the Breacher would need to have length of whole engine section of Typhoon.
this is how large it is, instead (about half of engine/belicose length)
if you compare it to the size chart, you'll find it rather accurate ^^

I was the one who made the 18km estimate.
And its either that, or bigger. Most likely bigger.

You are absoluteley correct.I checked again and the camera causes wierd size corruption.I did it when a typhoon was stuck on a stargate and got my ship right against it.Thanks for the help.

If EVE ships are only occupied by the single pilot inside a pod, then what the hell are in ships of these sizes

"If EVE ships are only occupied by the single pilot inside a pod, then what the hell are in ships of these sizes"
Ships are commanded by single pilot, which replaces the bridge crew to shorten the command chain and reaction time (rather than having to hear from mr Scotty how "she ain't gotta hold it capt'n" and wasting time to issue orders to the crew, the pilot simply "knows" the state of the ship and manages it with their very thoughts) ... but the ships still have regular crew to man the guns, perform maintenance, run all systems etc, and this crew can have up to thousands of members for battleships and suchlike.
Hands of a Killer chronicle gives a glimpse into that ^^

Caldari battleships are wider than the other races. Compare with the slim Amarr ships for instance.

Hmmm... what are the largest ships on that chart, the dreadnaughts?
Thats sort of odd. It seems like the Matari have the smallest battleship, and the largest dreadnaught. The other dreadnaughts look to be about three times the size of a battleship or so. The Matari battleship (which is smaller then the others by a bit) looks like its about 1/10th the size of its dreadnaught (which looks a little larger than all the others).

Have you seen a Scorp next to a Domi? It looks like they're not the same class of ship. __________________ Retard's handbook |

Does anyone have a size estimate for the lengths of the varius classes of ships (average)?
IE: How long are frigs, vs. cruisors, vs. battleships, vs. dreadnaughts?
