I am a noob, I admit it, and I attacked one of my friends within range of a jumpgate, and yes used the stupidest weapon to do. (Smartbomb) So now I have negative sec status. I have been told that by killing NPCs it will slowly go back up. Does anyone have a specific timeline that can be used, or is just kill NPC until it goes up?
Any help would be nice.

You kill NPCs, and every fifteen minutes, it is supposed to check the strongest NPC you've killed (I've heard people say it just checks the first one you've killed), and raise your security status based on the strength of the enemy. This number is a percentage of the difference between your current security status, and the max.

A negative sec status isn't a big problem until you hit -2.5 or so. So if you're only -0.3 or so, I really wouldn't worry about it.
To get it to rise, yes. You do need to kill NPCs. The bigger the NPC, the bigger the sec status rise. Some named NPCs give higher raises than they should (for the bounty you get from them), these are generally mission NPCs.

So is there a way to see the pluses in your status, as I seem to only be able to see what has been taken away.
Thank you for clearing this up for me.

There is a way of seeing all the logs of security modification but belt hunting for a noob is probably the best way or doing some Security missions.

If you go to the Security Status (or whatever it's called) tab on your character sheet, it will show all the plusses and minuses, as a percentage of the distance towards the maximum or minimum you went, and why you got it.
If it's not showing the plusses for you... Well, it's supposed to.

Also, it you right click in the security status tab on the faction/corporation/agent and select "show transactions", you can see every event that took place that modified you rating with them. If you want to see what happened to your overall security status, check the transactions with Concord. _____________________________________________________________________ Thar be Pirates
