as above. i have just started to dabble in a spot of pvp in a low sec area 0.4 at the moment i have only killed 1 pilot 3 times and my security status has dropped to 0.7, what is the easiest way to build this back up? will killing rats in belts help?
thanks. sorry if this sounds lame, but i am not a pvp expert |

I hear you can buy tags that you can exchange for sec status. I havn't been living in low-sec though so I don't know how expensive they are are how it works.
You *used* to be able to "rat" your sec status back up by killing one rat per system and cycling through a chain of systems. I honestly don't know if this still works but I assume it does. It's cheaper than buying tags but takes longer.

This does not work, security status is now every 5 minutes system-independent based on biggest rat, so go through all belts, kill biggest battleship, jerk off for 4 minutes, go back and kill another battleship. |

It's not lame - it is normal to worry about sec status at 1st.
BUT: Just move to low sec and shoot everything. You will ruin your own fun if you worry about sec status too much.
A mistake many make is they see someone with low sec status and think 'Oh they must be an idiot for wrecking the status for a few ganks etc or they are a griefer and can't be trusted'.
The reality is that the person with low status is the person having the most fun in eve. Something looks at them funny so they shoot it and wonder what shiny goodies will drop.
They never think 'Oh no a number just got lower on my character sheet'

You are safe in all high sec systems until your sec drops to -1.9, at which point you cannot enter a 1.0 system, then every -0.5 more you drop restricts you down a system security level till you are -5.0 then you cannot go into a 0.5 without concord getting pissy (also ALWAYS shootable for all@ -5.0) Cosmic signature detected. . . . http://i.imgur.com/Z7NfIS6.jpg I got 99 likes, and this post aint one.

I don't hang around on high sec gates to find out, but from memory:
It's the Faction Police that get you. - They are very mean. Much meaner than the Navy. Just keep moving and you can travel in fast ships. Never hang around anywhere - always be in warp. I don't think the Faction Navy comes. Concord don't attack for low sec status. Fix this **** See Sea Pea. |

It is the faction police. These will scram and web. Faction navy only spawn for non-flashy FW players and only web afaik, cheers for the instawarp guize :D
Meh, highsec is for trade alts and bottomfeeders anyway. |

If it is pvp you seek, then a low sec status should be a badge of honor.
But in all honesty, I would recommend not worrying about sec status at all (in your new line of work, having low sec status is inevitable) and focus on building a logistics network so you can stay in low/null. If you really want to keep your sec status clean then hunting for tags is your best bet. |

Podding in lowsec attracts a pretty big sec hit. It takes ages to get to -10 just destroying ships.
To repair sec status buy the tags at a hub and take them (carefully) to any lowsec Concord or DED station. Search for Security Office in the map. Costs a few hundred mil at the moment from -10 to -2 which is all you need. Cost will probably drop a bit but there will be a floor since I think there are NPC buy orders. Hooray, I'm l33t! -á(Kil2: "The higher their ship losses...the better they're going to be.") |
