So I keep hearing about this wonder fit fu**ing up gate camps and did a little warrioring to see the light. To those out there using it now is this close to your fit?

Also I had a question about ASB's in general since I am returning from a hiatus right after these mods came out. Does the charge size you load on the ASB dictate the amount restored? Or is a 400 going to restore just as much as a 800?

charge size does not affect boost amount.
Not sure about the fit itself, looks like it lacks a lot of tracking to me. The Operational Solidifier rigs will reduce your cycle time, which is not necessarily good, since your actual tanking potential is not determined by how fast your ASBs can cycle, but by how long you can last without them cycling.
Also keep in mind that it's desired to get as much EHP per cycle as possible, so you might want to grab a crystal set and get some bluepill. Each cycle should be overheated.
So only thing that's left to say from me is: Hf, gl. And post killmails. |

Crystals+ Booster + Tengu links covered. Though I'm wondering if shield harmonizing would be the only useful siege link. Would resist rigs or extender work better? |

hard to say, but i'd rig at least 1 em reinforcer. Basically, the longer you fight, the better the resistances become. They're also better if you manage to reload the first ASB. |

decent fit, i would swap solidifiers for em and thermal rigs swap 1 invul for shield boost amp if you're crashing gate camps consider dropping 1 gun for medium smartbomb, ecm drones are ******* lame would recommend at least low grade crystal set, for that extra umph of course drop a blue pill
and yeah, the one thing that pisses me off about asb is the charges, they boost the same amount even if the 800s are bigger than 400. so absolutely no point is loading 800s as it just cuts your tanking power in half |

I was thinking the same and wondering where's the downside as there is with every other module. Those recommendations actually tidy up the fit quite nicely. With fully boosted active shielding and shield harmonizing + improved blue pill + crystals getting around 10.2k tank, 6.6k if I turn the active shielding link off. A mean monster indeed. |

Keep in mind that an Invul can be overheated, and a SBA will only help your tank if you have charges. If you are reloading both ASBs simultaneously, the Invul will still provide tank, the SBA will not. |

It's awesome right up to the point where your tank drops to 0 EHP/s. You have to choose whether to run both at once and have 35 seconds of 10K tank and 60 seconds of 0K tank, or if you want to run one dry, then run the second dry, then have 25 seconds of 0K tank. If you can finish the fight in 35 - 70 seconds, then it probably works out well. Otherwise, it's a long drop and a short stop. |

You're assuming that he is taking enough damage so he needs to run his tank permanently. Most of the time you can handle an engagement, you can cycle the tank. |

Fit needs 2 SBAs instead of invulns. And a TE instead of that third gyro. And em/therm resist rigs instead of cycletime-rigs.

No they don't change the amount of reps but the number of cycles, now each ASB size has 2 charge types and you will of course choose the lightest to get the larger possible number of charges, Navy charges help you get +/- 1 more cycle which is always nice.
And yes Malestrom with that kind of fit can pretty much ruin a lot of camping pilots day, as soon as you get more than 1 of those on top of them destruction and pain starts taking new levels and they will feel the pain unless they're smart enough to GTFO or have counters, having a nice drone bay helps to counter/counters or add more dps. Of course this setup is not invulnerable and has weaknesses but yep, it's a very nice ship to have fun destroying gate camps or ruin BO drops. *removed inappropriate ASCII art signature* - CCP Eterne |

If you "can handle the engagement" and don't really need dat tank, then why are you undocking in the U.S.S. Derpfit with half your slots wasted on fitting mods? |

I don't like using more than one fitting module/rig myself so after a bit of shuffling I see this fit having better damage application with minimal concessions to the original fit.

Here's a Mael that a bunch of my old alliance-mates and I ran smack into last year at our home station undock:

It's probably far from a perfect fit, but after he aggressed, we needed a combination of a Scorpion, an old-style laser Armageddon, and a bunch of lighter stuff to take that sucker down, and he probably would have been able to de-aggress and dock up if he hadn't run out of booster charges in his hold. That's kind of what I had at the beginning but I see anything smaller than a bs with a mwd slipping away. I'd like to mostly use this on hi-lo gates. Slip in my booster first and assess the gate situation, if it's manageable dps jump in the mael and slow burn to the gate like I didn't mean to jump in until they aggress and I catch the first guy that gets within 10k. Then start going down the list until they warp off or bring in more ships giving me a (small) chance to jump back through if need be.
