I was thinking about going into wspace with a venture to do some ninja gas mining and was wondering about fitting. I hope to be in & out before the sleepers spawn.
Is there any point to shield buffering it vs. the sleepers? Will they pop me as soon as they spawn or will a medium booster & resist be worth the fitting? or can I just run away?
Right now my venture is fit to just run away fast, I figure if i get pointed its dead anyways. currently I have:
hi probe launcher gas harvester gas harvester
med 1mn experimental mwd magnetometric eccm magnetometric eccm
low nanofiber
rigs small low friction nozzle joints I small low friction nozzle joints I small low friction nozzle joints I |

if a sleeper spawns, no amount of buffer on a venture is going to save you. Use the 3 seconds or so it takes to target you and gtfo. |

Neat. I'll just keep my fit as is then. was wondering why people were fitting SE on ventures. I guess its to take a hit from a player while warping out. ill keep my eccm though... |

u may want ECM not ECCM as one is defensive in nature but I will let you guess which one???? |

The other is harder to scan in nature, which is likely the reason to be used. I will let you guess which one. |

sig radius/sensor strength = scan size.
closer scan size is to 1.08, the harder it is for your boat to get probed down.
if scan size < 1.08, even with all lv5 scan skills it will be extremely/impossibly hard to get a 100% warpable scan off of you.
ECCM makes sensor strength larger, thus scan size smaller.
my thinking is that if i have a ship point me, im dead anyways so no need for buffer. might as well full paper and try to stealth away.
unless anyone has a better fit? xD |

No the fit is solid.
The probing thing isn't a huge issue honestly, because even with combats if they don't lock your ship they will get a lock on the ladar site. If you see their probes your gone anyhow. If you don't see the probes then they have all the tiem in the world to work on a good warp in from the site.
You are safe from almost all bombers, who usually just use a disruptor, and would rarely have a 3 point scram.
The little bastards will do 3700m/s with an overheated MWD. So even if a HIC bubble you can burn out of.
bottom line is unless you decide to go afk you are close to uncatchable. |
