Hey guys.
I was just mainly curious if caldari is the best option for a class 3 or 4 WH with a crap ton of ECM's and Damps? the cycle delay is -75% so i imagine it can cycle ECMing targets quite fast, and since we dont have to worry about someone jumping a dread in i figure our best bet is just to pile on as much ewar as possible.
Is this correct thinking? Want the POS to look so unattractive that no one will want to touch it. |

I guess it really depends on how well you can respond to a tower take down attempt.
**** Stars slow an enemy down giving you time to respond, Death Stars dissuade smaller gangs from attacking and might at at least get you a few kill mails. Either way if you cant respond in force and they want your tower gone then it will come down.
Just make sure you put some hardeners on that bad boy. |

If someone really wants your POS gone then it's not going to matter what kind of "star" you have.
In C3 and C4 wormholes, however, the most likely scenario is an attack by a battleship gang. What you're trying to defend against is a drive by.
ECM is good and I personally think that a dickstar works best in a wormhole because (a) it slows down an already slow process and (b) because you might not be online at every moment to defend it. So even if you don't come online to defend your pos then it can sort of defend itself by adding hours and hours of effort to the attacking fleet.
Even with a dickstar, though, you still need some guns. Even if they're not all initially online. If you do log-in to defend the pos then you want your pos gunners to be able to apply some hurt.
And having a bat-phone helps a LOT. A buddy of mine had a POS in a C3 and his corp had 10 guys in it (just his alts). Someone decided he was an easy mark and they set up their own POS in his wormhole and incapped it with a 20 man battleship fleet.
He batphoned me and after the POS was in RI we moved some material into the hole, set up a 2nd POS for our buddy, incapped the enemy pos and when they woke up the next morning thinking they were going to finish the job, their POS was incapped, rapecaged and camped by 80 guys. Due to the clever placement of bubbles we managed to pod most of them out of the wormhole in the first hour after they started logging on.
The siege lasted another day but by the time we took down their tower they were either all dead and podded or they had run.
And that's the best defense you can have, really. |

i always found the best dependable POS (for me) in a c3 is a caldari tower with 20 missile batteries and 16 ecm. bit o extra cpu and pg for storage or whatnot leftover. been sieged 3 times and three times they pulled out because of scrambled brains (ecm) and bashed apart ships. They said it was just too much trouble. "The stone exhibited a profound lack of movement." |

ahhh thats cute missiles on a pos the gang must not have known what they where doing
when i lived in WH previously a 20 man SB gang RI a tower with that kind of setup we sig tanked the missiles id always slap projctiles on it regardless of race and battery flavor they keep firing as CPU free guns |

Only reason it worked tbh was because we always had a couple of guys on at the times of the sieges too man turrets and junk. Also being in a pulsar has its perks with missile combat
When we moved too a wolf hole we abandoned that POS fit for a minimatar tower and projectiles. "The stone exhibited a profound lack of movement." |

Beware that all EWAR modules are large: 4,000 m3 = 4x a medium turret. You'll have to do a lot of hauling. |

Missile batteries are still the worst of all the POS options. |
