Hi guys, I have been scouring the net for a good T1 kiting frigate too play with, all the fits I find say its no longer as viable as it once and was wondering what's considered good, I know the condor is but missiles are not my thing. |

The masses will disagree with me and they are probably correct to a degree, but i personally have found kiting in frigates difficult and sometimes not practical if the opponent is in a cruiser upwards, the margin for error is a very easy line to cross webifiers and drones from a decent fit cruiser will hit hard on a tech 1 frig without support. I would think being minmatar your best bet would be to use a kiting stabber it has a lot more tank, range and dps however it is obviously more expensive.
But dont get me wrong kiting can be done in a frigate just not with great ease and you need to be very picky of targets, as the wrong one will pop you in seconds.
Hope this helps

I know you said you don't like missiles, but in my honest opinion the best frigate for kiting is the Kestrel.
Other option could possibly be the rail fit frigates of the Gallente or Caldari. But I don't know what they're like.
The reason I suggest the Kestrel is it has a good tank plus the ability to stay (mostly) out of range of most other PvP frigs as many pilots blaster fit for heavy damaged applied. Course if its for PvE then any kiting ship will do so long as its out of range. It's human nature to want to explore. To find your line and go beyond it. The only limit, is the one you set yourself. |

I've been looking at the same thing and have asked around a whole lot, what I ended up with (for Gallente anyway) is the following but I haven't tried it in combat yet (still training skills for it).
[Atron, Kiting] Fourier Transform Tracking Program Fourier Transform Tracking Program Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Warp Disruptor II Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Optimal Range Disruption Script

You don't say if it's for PvP or missions or what???
Assuming you trained Minmatar, the Rocket Breacher is the most commonly fit kiter, but it's quite intensive to train for as you need drone and missile skills, as opposed to both the Rifter and Slash can be arty fit but dont excel at it.
The Condor is still king I'm afraid. "Jita 4 4 spaceport. You will not find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious!" |

Missed the part where he said he was gonna kite cruisers with his frigate. That is suicide imo cause cruisers will outrange you 99% of the time anyhow.

That Atron fit posted above is pretty solid, apart from swapping a tracking enhancer for a nano fibre, and in the rigs fitting a polycarb astro rig and a locus hybrid rig. For the guns, drop down to T1. T2 rails require way more CPU and pg for very little gain. You'll only really need T2 if you are using T2 ammo. I hardly ever use t2 rails, even my taranis use T1 guns.
Shoot with thorium and never get closer that 15km. That fit can take down thrashers, coercers and blaster catalysts easy. One in five people are Chinese. There are five people in my family, so one must be Chinese. It's either my mum, my dad, my older brother Colin or my younger brother Ho-Cha-Chu. But I think it's Colin |
