Thank you so very much Gyra. I think my forgetful manager (who I am doing a favor for by working this saturday) scheduled me in at 3pm(19:00) instead of 5pm(21:00). I will talk call him tomarrow and tell him I can not make it in until 21:00. If he can't work around it, I think I will just quit. It's a crappy part-time job I just do for extra cash and after the night I just had there I am about ready to quit as it is.
Anyway. I will let you all know what the deal is tomarrow. Sorry to be such a pain, but I really like racing and i'll be darned if I'll miss one for the tiny hourly wage they pay.

Very good event here.
May I suggest the following: 1 - Deadspace running - event organizer starts a lvl1-2 deadspace mission, cleans the place, then warps players to it for the start. After last can, they continue on normal. 2 - Nasty deadspace running - the mission is NOT cleaned beforehand... 3 - Asteroid pinball - choose a very nasty asteroid field and put the cans right next to them.
4 - Having races on days other than saturday? I can never make it saturday!!
Though I bet you already thought of these!
Good luck.

Thanks for the interest Granth.
It's too bad we can't put cans inside deadspace complexes else I'd have some in there. The cleanup mission idea is nice but I don't think it's very practical.
Some of the participants can attest to Kaleigh's waypoint placement when it comes to asteroid pinball.
Saturday is really ideal as the best day for most racers and organizers (i have to be there), regardless of timezones. Sorry.

Honestly the above sounds more to me like a rally race than the kind of circuit race the Frigate League seems to be. It would certainly require different setups... Myself I'm much more a fan of circuit type races

Don't even get me started. I certainly have bounced off my share of asteroids...

I have been scanning the known universe for a racer and FINALLY struck paydirt. So I will be trying to figure out who to send the Entrance Fee to and all that jazz...
For the purposes of the Race, I will be sponsoring as the new CEO of Escorts of Eve.
The Racer will represent all those who time forgot...
Out of forced retirement, and with a brand new racing vehicle straight from the salvage yard I give you:
M1rth
M1rth has a long racing history that I would share with you if the records had not been destroyed in a suspicious fire at the Mercantile Club. Needless to say, many fortunes have already been won and lost betting on this FAMOUS racer. If you go back far enough, you could even read about the exploits in The SCOPE, or you could have if that issue had not picked another HOT story at the last minute.
Quote: This mysterious racer has confounded many both on and off the track. - The Scope
Quote: A menace to the spaceways! - CONCORD
Quote: A fierce competitor and close friend. -Silphy en Diabel
Quote: Some pilot from the backwaters, knows alot about frigates they say, disappeared into the Eve Gate for a while and came out changed. Heck of a pod pilot. Heard of this pilot flying without a pod even - either very brave or foolish. - Old dude drinking a Quafe on the Crystal Boulevard
Prepared to be awed by the skill, the charm, and style of this famous racer who once again will educate the youngsters of today!

Kador region race kicked off into full swing with team Gradient returning to the scene with a pair of firetails and a whole new bag of tricks. Although Republic Firetails have become the staple in this circuit, Owi once again proved his skill by changing things up flying an Amarr Splicer-class frigate and still finishing in first place.
There was also quite an uproar as Gradient's Elsebeth Rhiannon ambushed the Splicer at one of the waypoints, however failed to penetrate its armor. Nevertheless Masim finished for the team as team Dragonstar made a strong showing by snatching third and fourth place. M1rth managed a solemn finish in his Caldari-made navy Condor, a rare sight in these races.
Captain Rathomius showed considerable patience this evening despite an early incident with Blood Raider vessels, and closed this evening's event in his fashionable Gallente Atron.
Thanks to everyone who participated, and hope to see many more next race!

Thx all pilots and Event-organicers fpr this Race !
Originally by: Gyra Rho , Owi once again proved his skill by changing things up flying an Amarr Splicer-class frigate and
I wasnt flyin a Splicer it was Amarr Navy Slicers :) Think it was the right choice to fly a Amarr Class ship on this Amarr Region Race !
Gradient showed awsome tactic view at wp7 , masim on 2nd place told Elsebeth to fly from wp5-6 directly to wp 7 ( not agaisnt rulez) and waited there for me ! I was realy supriced but my setup and ship proofed to be stable enought to get to the wp grap the bm and warped out befor Masim with better gunneryskills showed up in the belt.

Edited by: Elsebeth Rhiannon on 28/05/2006 12:01:46 Shouldn't have tried to fight in that frigging toy.
To clarify the rules as we used them: I am perfectly allowed to take the long route to waypoint (in this case) 4. If I choose to make a detour through the one low-sec pocket that is bound to have a waypoint, and locate the waypoint there (using either scanner or my team mate revealing me the info), and wait until other competitors have passed, that's my business. Naturally, it means I cannot finish the race without going back to the WP4... but does not matter, as my teammate is already placing second, and the first placing of the team is what counts.
Knowing the race organization, I doubt this is a mistake in the rules, I think it is a feature. Now that we have come out in the open with it, we'll see how interesting the races will get...

Del pauses in her stirring of green tea with a chopstick and reviews what was done the last race. She ponders how such violations of the rules in so expert a manner will effect those who bet on these races if they are allowed to continue.
She makes a mental note to place a side bet that a particular racer might have mechanical failures next race.
Del then looks down at the swirling leaves of Green and Earl Grey circling and wonders if Frigates in a fight at the starting line might look similar. One might bet a MWD or AB to be easily damaged if armor did not stop a blow quickly. Firetails look like such hunks of junk it could take weeks to find the damaged part. Amazing that they fly at all. Must be some hidden meaning there about efficiency of Caldari design, but such eludes the sane mind when applied to Minmatar ships.

Dear Eve,
I know I have not been a faithful follower at all times. I know blaming this on my abandonment after birth or the cloning accident to follow is not an excuse. Please hear my plea though because I know you read things put here as I see your hand in the Frigate Race.
I would like the following, not just for me, but for all the Caldari Children to be inspired in years to come and to grow up to be sound citizens. Okay, I may be lying a little, but can you blame me?
I would like you to inspire someone who is reputable, with sound financial backing, and preferable tall dark and handsome Caldari Civire specimen. Okay, perhaps strong and resourceful with a gun feel for weapons just for me. However, for this task someone willing to work hard would be nice.
I would like you to inspire them with the desire to set up and run Betting for the Frigate League Races. I have already figured out next Races odds and some rules that someone could apply.
1 Million Isk bets only. If the racing team does not show, then the money is lost. If a first timer racing corp wins, then the money is lost. If the total pot is exceeded due to my poor calculations, then only the money gathered is to be disbursed. That 50% of the profit left over are given to the racers who participate evenly. That 25% of the profit is given to the hard working Race Event Staff. That 25% of the profit is given to me to advertise on Eve-Radio or other mediums. If this last 25% is not possible, then just disbursed to the top three winners each week would be okay too.
I have already calculated the odds and forgive my spelling/abbreviations:
2:1 Alcatraz 3:1 Gradient 5:1 Convergent 10:1 Dragonstar 20:1 Free Explorer 25:1 CINR 25:1 Synergy 33:1 TAP 33:1 Marlowe's Rift 33:1 Photosthetics 50:1 Sentinel Security 50:1 TOG 100:1 HIN
I know that I have done a FEW bad things to defenseless miners such as jam their weapons as I stole their ore and taunted them or perhaps taken someone's loot drop with the item they needed to complete the mission. Overall though, I feel I have been faithful enough for this one *gift*.
Thanks - I know you heard me - I can sense a missile lock now. Thanks!

I cannot make it official without the IRA support.
I think it might be considered (outside) interference with the Event if the Event Organizers decided such. Unintended consequences you know.
I figure that it could work well. (Obviously - you are favored to win.)
Also, because I support financially one of the racers, I might not be considered unbiased enough.
There is still a week till the next race, so... lets see if the IRA responds. |

I have been reading some on the races and I would be interested in the Betting aspect. I am in a non biased corps. But some things would change. Odds of bets would change with the amount bet.
ex. If no one bet on alcatraz their odds would increase significantly. also on the other hand
if many people bet on some of the higher odds then their payoff would decrease.. Much like horse or dog racing
person betting would put up denomination 100, 10,000, 1m whatever and odds would be based on current standings. Loser bets would get nothing in return. winners would be paid there bet with a 10% decrease in return for 'juice'. Or that is how I would make some money or profit.

Just remember that the IRA says it must be Profit Neutral. (No personal or corp isk made...)
The hard part of doing this is the lack of a way to collect, keep track of, and post live. This would make it a manual process with sets of books. Also, the methods of disbursing the isk might be very tedious and we all should know that a mis-key gives the wrong person the isk.
Imagine hundreds of pod-pilots betting 10k isk.
Imagine if hundreds of pod-pilots showed up for the race...
I am sure Gyra Rho thought of this already and her expression is a smile.
