You can make anything in EvE, NOT. Apparently the rules of Eve have exceptions. One of which is Tech II BPO's. I am a new player, I was looking for a different MMO game and stumbbled upon EVE. Eve is a most unusual MMO around and I enjoy playing.
You can buy all the BPO's you want Tech I and Tech II. The problem is you can only buy Tech II from players. Why is that? You can invent TECH II, but only copies. Why is that. Why does CCP act like the Mount Olympus gods, having a lottery every few years to insert more Tech II BPO's. Why can't people invent Tech I and Tech II BPO's from scratch? Yes, I do mean both Tech I and II. Why must the market for TECH II BPO's be controlled by the few of the haves. Why are they for sale in Contracts and not in the market?
Tech I and Tech II BPO should be invented or discovered by learning various skills and invention. The mighty CCP gods should make this a self sustaining market without their lottery, where you can make anything or purchase anything. Think of Discovery where someone could make a base Tech I or II BPO of an item or with certain modifications. Think of a ship BPO with missile launchers preinstalled or other ship variations with modifications or improvements. This would open up a new market where people could take their own builds make a BPO to sell to others.
CCP consider this as an opportunity to expand the the boundries Industry and Manufacturing area where players can control inventions and Blueprints. |

Tech II BPOs have for the most part no meaningful influence on the market - they are too few to fulfill the demand. With the Odyssey changes to data site drops, the gap between invention and BPO gets even smaller. I wish I were a cat. That way, I could kill things and people would applaud - instead of screaming out "OH GOD NO, NOT MY DAUGHTER!" |

Uhm, no. Invention REPLACED the blueprint lottery. There have been no new Tech 2 BPOs added to the game since the invention system was created. After many complaints of the unfair randomness of the lottery, and some accusations CCP cheated and gave T2 BPOs to favored individuals deliberately rather than by chance, CCP decided to do away with the lottery and created the invention system. Remaining T2 BPOs are legacy items.
I do not advise wasting your time complaining that existing T2 BPOs should be removed. There have been hundreds of threads on this topic already. |

I suggest posting your idea in Features and Ideas forums. CCP doesn't read this forum regularly so there is really no reason to post it here. A thread like this here will just create the same crap storm and back and forth of the same replies we've seen over the past 5 years or so. All of which will mean nothing. omg really?... tbh that-¦s exactly how it should be.
every MMO needs his long time goals and don`t be jelly that people who are playing the game 5-6 years longer than you can afford things you can`t. Alternativly you can chose the way of tears and cry about it all day long, ask brewlar kwak how fruitfull that is.
technicly, you can sell T1 and T2 BPO`s over market, but hence they are researched most of the time, the contract system is needed to serve all the different ME/PE levels |

No new T2 BPOs have been released in a very long time, and there are now many items that simply don't have T2 BPOs. I can't get them, you can't get them, no one can get them.
The T2 BPOs that actually were released actually aren't that great these days. They can provide only a small fraction of market demand at best. Introducing a stream of new T2 BPOs would of course change that -- and would very rapidly drive down their value. T2 production would simply become T1 production with a single additional step. And there go the margins.
Believe it or not, those of us who do even moderate volume T2 production are rather fine with the system as it is. I won't pretend I'm a large scale producer, but I'm up to medium scale (15-20k invention jobs/year). And I make fine money on it without owning any T2 BPOs. I suggest you look into doing the same rather than trying to change a system you don't yet fully understand. |

Err... They don't. The T2 BPO lottery ended in November 2006. There have been no T2 BPO lotteries or new T2 BPOs since.
Just pretend they don't exist and you'll be fine. They don't make invention impractical or impossible. They don't significantly skew the market except for a few areas where there's low enough demand that the T2 BPO holders can satisfy most of the demand (and as an inventor you can just ignore those areas as not profitable). |

Why, Zifrian, why? This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.
"the risk of having your day ruined by other people is the cornerstone with which EVE was built and we want to keep that (infact, this is much more representative of the consensus opinion within CCP)." -CCP Solomon |
