Forgive the noob question, I just subscribed to Eve after playing it on free trial for a week or so.
I finished a line of missions and was awarded a Badger ship.
I try to make ship (Badger) active and get this:
Operation of Badger requires the skills Caldari Industrial : Level 1
So I purchased the skill, and when I try to Train or Inject it, I get this:
You have already trained Caldari Industrial and cannot train it a second time.
???????
So I can't make my Badger active because I don't have Caldari Industrial lvl 1, but I can't train to Caldari Industrial lvl 1 because I'm already trained in it.
Need help!! |

Can you put your character up on EVE-board?
www.eveboard.com?
Also, this is a problem that sound like it needs GM intervention. Maybe try a petition?

Did you just inject the Caldari Industrial skill or did you train it to level 1? If you open your character sheet, go to Skills, expand out Spaceship Command and look at Caldari Industrial, what does it say on the right-hand side? |

Wow! 2 friendly responses! :) Great to see that the WoW crowd hasn't infested this game yet (at least I hope).
I can't remember if I originally Trained or Injected it. I did it while I was on my trial. Then I went to activate my Badger but it said I couldn't under a trial account. So I subscribed, then that happened (in my original post).
BUT.. just now when I opened up my skill list, I noticed it was there but wasn't trained for some reason. (I don't now what the dif. is between Inject and Train.. still figuring things out). I've added it to my queue and hopefully all will be well soon.
This is my *3rd* time trying to learn this game. I installed (and uninstalled) it twice before, as it was just way too much thrown at my (small) mind at once and too overwhelming. After watching more YouTube vids lately, I got hyped up about it again and forced myself to spend more time learning it slowly, and this time it's working out a bit better. Only made it about an hour the first time I tried, then less than a day the 2nd time. Hopefully this time I've learnt enough to stay with it :)

Inject = add to list of skills available to train. Train = spend time increasing the skill's level.
If it's at level 0, then the complaint from the Badger is correct, you need the skill at level 1, so add it to the skill queue, wait a bit (it's a quick skill) then you'll be able to fly the Badger. |

As others have mentioned, when you inject a skill it's simply added to your list of trainable skills, but at level 0. It'd then have to be added to the skill queue and trained in order to hit level 1. Simply the worst capsuleer there's ever been. |

Thanks! So inject just broadens your list of available skills, but doesn't actually train the skill.
Ok, skill is trained. - I've got my Badger!!
Thanks everyone!
(I"ll probably be spending a lot of time on here asking rookie questions)

Enjoy these cool responses you got this time because going forward they will become very sparse.
And don't even go to General Discussion for about another month |

Now that you can finally pilot the thing, next step is not losing it.
Have Fun~

P.S. Welcome to EVE. I don't always do ****. But when I do, it's usually worth doing. |
