What happens if a player controlling a carrier, a mothership or a titan is logging of? What happens to the player and ships inside of these ships, when the controlling player logs of?

exactly what happens with freighters facing something that can't kill em in the 30secs of the logoff timer (as they are exiting the gate).

Im still of the belief that the uber captial ships will remain in space at all times regardless of them having a pilot.
Plus if your titan (With added super weapon goodness) is in a situation where you might need to log , your doing something hideously wrong.

Yeah right. Like stupidly rich idiots aren't going to buy one just to have a massive e-peen. Not to mention EVE's standard cohorts of lamers and retards.
I don't think you trust, in, my, self-righteous suicide. |

Then when the internet provider of the Titan pilot pulls the plug by accident, it needs to get defended until he can come online again. Not very practical also.

I'm not sure I understand this - yes, you're doing something wrong if the Titan is in the situation where it might go down.... but there's also the OTHER situation where you might need to log off - when you need some sleep, want to go to work, make some food, go out drinking, read a book, watch the telly, go on a trip out..... They'll vanish like any other ship, or be docked in the Capital Construction Yards

My question is primary what happens to the players and ships inside of a carrier, mothership and titans.
Assume player A owns a mothership. In it is player B and C. Player B is logged in while player C is logged out of the game. Now assume player A logs off to got some days into holidays. What happens to player B inside of the mothership? Will he kicked out of the mothership? And what is with player C logging back one day later?
The other way and I believe it is much better. All these giant ships are staying permanently online like POS and are handled like such to prevent giant ship stealing (access rights). A player which is able to control a giant ship docks like at a station and then switch to the giant ship control. When he logs out he is automatic returned to his docked ship but stays inside of the giant ship.

I donŠt think, that it will be possible to dock at a titan/mothership. I donŠt know, what happens if you clone-jump to a mothership, but i think, youŠll be ejected immediatly.

For what are then ships being able to dock on carriers and Motherships and titans?
See this taken out of the feature page:
Quote: TITANS
Titans are the largest, most fearsome spacefaring vessels ever constructed. Like carriers, they host massive internal bays designed to accommodate, launch, and maintain ships or fighters. Their armaments include X-Large turrets, and a massive superweapon capable of generating unspeakable destructive force. In addition to their immense firepower, they contain Rebirth facilities and serve as Rapid Fleet Deployment platforms. Completing their awesome list of strengths is their ability to open jump portals-the same technology that enables star gates-for other ships to travel through.
CARRIERS & MOTHERSHIPS
A total of eight new carriers are introduced, two for each Empire. The carrier is an affordable capital ship, and most major corporations are expected to fund and deploy at least one for their engagements. Motherships are a much larger variant of the carrier, and considerably more expensive.
Both carrier types are equipped with standard Ship Maintenance Arrays, which allow for the storage and fitting of ships in open space. They operate just like corporate hangars, enabling pilots to access and equip ship modules if their access rights are sufficient. Motherships can host Rebirth facilities to support Rapid Fleet Deployment operations, but carriers cannot.

You cannot dock with titans or motherships, im not sure how the clone jumping orks but i assume you appear outside the ship in a pod. Ships can be ejected and scooped into the titans/ms cargo bay by its pilot.
If a player logs off the ships inside log off with him just like your cargo normally does.
As for the ship dissapearing when you log off, i can say with 99% certainty that it does. If it didnt nobody in their right mind would get a titan or carrier as everyone would simply kill them while the pilot is offline. ------------------

you canŠt clonejump to a carrier if itŠs offline, the module to receive clones must be activated and has a 10 minute timer, like a cyno field generator, during that duration even if the mothership/titan pilot crashes/logs, the ship will remain unmovable till the cycle is ended, like dreads curently. Second the Titan/Mothership when logged off will disapear just like any other ship after 2 minuts (PVE timer) Third afaik the skill for the clonejumping module gives 5 clones/level if not changed, so donŠt think you can jump your entire corp or alliance to one, itŠs only 25 clones at level 5 per carrier/titan.
and last but not least, if people would search a bit through databases and forums they might find the answers themself or figure it from excisting ships and their behavour

I see some players don't unterstand me right. It is clear that a titan can not dock. But the description looks like a player with a frig can dock at the titan. or how will you use the titan's ship facilities?
I considered that a carrier, mothership or titans are maked like a sort of mobile POS.

How to change ships without docking. Move up to the Mothership. Open corp hangar and eject the Ship you want. Right click empty ships and Board it. Right click your old ship and dockit it on Mothership... I dont know if this is the ACTUAL implementation. But its probably something along those lines. (Just like the POS ship hangar.)
And yes, the Titans etc. will disapear like normal ships when logging off. If it engages in combat that will be a 15 minute log off timer... Wonder if thats enough to take it down... Better not use it for combat after all... --- "Why can't we all just get along?" |

It is. It works exactly like with corporate hangar arrays and ship maintainance arrays at POS's. It was demonstrated in detail at the fan festival.
Some people may wonder if this means that it will take an hour to online all your modules like it does with POS's. The answer is: Yes, unless the capital ship pilot fits a capital energy transfer array to help you with your cap. Then it can be done in a couple of minutes.
