I used EMMA to tell me when my orders were done. You'll need to hunt around for the app though, and there are free keys. Not sure if Ambo is still around to issue them. The old forums held all its goodness. EMMA is a little bit of a pig though, requires SQL Server/Database installed etc.
Though what I found most helpful was only listing half my total inventory. Once EMMA reported an order was completed, or I noticed an order was completed I would list the other half, then produce a full run again.
Mind you, I managed over 250 items all of which I produced, at a POS, and purchased and sometimes mined the minerals.
The only thing that I really would have needed was "When is my order completed" the rest was handled by me selling the second half and immediately running a production job for replacements. |

jEveAssets will keep track of market orders and inventory using the stockpile feature.

Mentat should tell you that (Not used it myself, but it is very popular)
JEve has a stockpile tool, and an orders section
Evemon can yell at you when an order gets filled.
There are probably others (EveHQ etc) that can do this too. |

If you've got an Android phone, Eve Watch seems to be doing a decent job for me. |

Learn to love your quickbar!
Why?
- It has the ability to create named folders which you can put items into (i.e. lists of the stuff you sell);
- Efficient checking/purchasing/sourcing of items;
- Perhaps most importantly of all, it keeps you extremely engaged in what the competition is doing and you can take action accordingly if you have to;
I've seen some great third party software come and go over the years but I've always fallen back on the in-game market window quickbar. Enough so that I've fairly easily managed 2000 odd orders spread over multiple characters and regions.
There's more to the finer points of using the quickbar but if you've not used it before for this purpose then it might be worth checking out.

I agree about the quickbar, but just use "Sort by time remaining" these days, and when something sells, quickly check it on the market to see if it needs refilling.
The quickbar is only handy for same region trading, and I guess the OP is asking for when they are out of system. |

I absolutely agree that there's some improvements which can be made to the quickbar and market/transaction windows in general. I've actually been thinking about this a lot lately... I should really start a thread on it sometime soon. |

I hear the CSM collects ideas now, maybe now its the time :)
Edit: Oh and an option to add to quickbar from anywhere you click on the item. Or at least anywhere in the market window. |

One of the most annoying omissions from the market interface. I store my orders and transactions in a database and it alerts me when they have filled. Strange that it isn't in game.
You could use the API orderState field if you are into that sort of thing. Hooray, I'm l33t! -á(Kil2: "The higher their ship losses...the better they're going to be.") |

Devs are such tight leash that they find it just easier not to play with market, so these sort of handy things newer gets done by them.
But at-least we can export orders and scrape market data from cache files. That's still better then nothing.
Personally im not holding my breath waiting ccp to do something to improve the market window. If theyr own economist has to borrow user made candle stick app to get such things done, then there's very little hope for improvements.
Personally i would welcome ability to lua script the graphs, what it shows, how it shows it. That would be big help all ready. Giving us users freedom to make our own scripts to have graphs the way we like to have them. Heck built in Sqlite db engine too and we make it do wonders that your in house economist will drop hes jaw. :P
And of course ability to import/export user settings so we can actually share things between accounts. ;) We are Minmatar, Our ship are made of scraps, but look what our scraps can do... |
