Hi there, Im totally new to Eve, am playing now for like 3 day's. Really enjoy it except yesterday when i just bought my newest ship a "Badger" to get all of my items to another station. But as i was flying to that station some big a$$ ship, well two shotted me. I was very disapointed but realised it was my own misstake ( low sec zone). Well I lost everything (had my rookie ship and my merlin inside that badger pluz some good loot). Well this made me very mad and angry. but i have subribe after this (within 10 minutes). Anyways my question is, how do i ever get my revenge on that guy??
He was in a big Battleship "Raven". i wont have a change againts him. Is it possible to hire some kind of mercenary's or so? I really want my revenge. But if its like I never can get as good as him ( due to the fact that he's playing the game way longer) then well i might as well quit the game now. please provide me with some advise

Edited by: Whirl on 11/12/2005 21:34:33 You probably won't be able to kill him in the next week... but the time you've been playing doesn't equate to how good you are in PVP. Anyway, be prepared to be killed a lot in the game, so just be careful and accept it.
You can put bounties on people's heads through the mission menu if you want.

Sorry to hear. Unfortunately you found out too soon how dangerous low security can be esp for a newer player.Eve is a good game tbh. My advice to all new players is to stay in .5 and above till you can defend yourself or join a corp in low security. I lost my first ship about a week into the game and had the same feeling, things were alot different 2.5yrs ago tho.You will waste alot of time, isk and effort on "REVENGE" take it asa learning experience. Yeah I nkow its a hard pill to swallow but keep moving on. And guessing you were in Caldari space?? If so its full of pirates, move to a different area..

Life is hard for a newb... I know, these ppl made me quitted the game once but after recovering from the harshness of eVe, I decided to retry after forgetting all the bad experience and learn the game mechanics of how to survive in EvE. It is not hard now but sometimes eVe really makes you a bit upset and angry when you lose stuffs big time. Just logout and call it a night.
My first 6 months of Eve was very hard. Just hang in there and learn the game mechanics, once you have done so, then you can go try to kill ppl like those in time to come. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
My advise, dont fly to low sec. Look at your map first if you need to fly pass low secs. Forget about them, take it as a bad learning experience. Better lose newbs stuffs that cost 5M (I know it is a lot for now) but better than 100M worth of stuffs in the future. ----------------

The best revenge is success.
Put it behind you, persevere and make your way in the world.
"Stuff" doesn't mean that much, only undock with what you can afford to lose, and even if you lose it, its no big deal.
What really matters is your RL knowledge of the game and its mechanics, and to a smaller degree, skillpoints. So concentrate on understanding why and how you got whacked, how you can avoid it in the future, how you plan to make money, to be able to go out and maybe get a chance to fire back.

Wowz,
Thanks to you all for your quick and kind replies. This game has a lot more to offer then I could imagine. So it's possible to beat him in some kind of way. I really like that.
Anyways, another friendly person has helped me in a new ship. With that i've doing missions and am now back to my old 'level', So afterall it isn't a big lost, but I will remember your advises. Thanks again.

Can I just say, I used to play Ultima Online, before PKing was near enough wiped out. And I also was one of those players who used to email support to do something about making it harder for PKers, as I was getting tired organising guild meetings (I was the guildmaster) and having them disrupted by these PKing griefers.
Well, something was done and Ultima Online had become WORSE considerably and totally ruined the game. It probably also marked the beginning of the end for UO. So be careful what you wish for.
I think PKers serve a purpose, if only to make you feel you've earnt your ISK the hard way. This game reminds me alot like UO when it first came out...perfect. I can honestly say 3 days playing, I've never experienced anything like it.

Remember...it may be a bit too early to take revenge...it's a dish best served in a vacuum.
Oh, yeah...and cold.
Good luck. -*-*-*-*-*-*

Lol, true dat!
Well I'll give you suggestion if you transporting item in indy with badger. Warp Core Stabilizer is your friend. You will be truly thankfull to this babies when you got scrambled ( but some "PKer" are tricky fitting their ship, be carefull ). Don't carry around things you don't need for your destination. *cough* learn instas *cough*
If you get Transport ship class, these girls have high survivability chance than industrial ship when running from pirate camp. ----------------------------- And now a word from my sponsor

Hi there, I WAS in the same situation as original poster and decided to do just what has been suggested here: make a note, and when I'm stronger, I'll be back... Now I am stronger, and there are 1 or 2 names I would like to meet. But how to find them? I have put them in my 'Buddy'list and can see if they're online, but is there a way to locate them, to find their position? ----- FreeHansje

Surveillence agent can locate player's position Lvl 3 agent can find people outside local region. --------- Watch me gravitate Ha ha ha ha ha....

Edited by: Jerrick Krayvis on 12/12/2005 18:57:59 Edited by: Jerrick Krayvis on 12/12/2005 18:56:27 Similar thing happened to me a couple of days ago. Was trucking along in my Bestower returning home from a trade run and a Raven popped up next to the jump gate I was heading for in 0.2 space. Needless to say my Bestower never actually made it to the gate. Fortunately the pirate was nice enough to let my pod escape and he didn't get any decent loot, since my indy was empty when he killed it.
It was kind of exciting in a weird way since it was my very first encounter with a "real" (ie not a rat) pirate. My heart started pounding as soon as I saw the Raven drop out of warp and target me.
It's just part of the game, get used to it. Remember that you're not going to be a noob forever and someday you'll be the one flying around in a big battleship killing people in Badgers.
