So I see we are going to need high corp standing with an empire in order to deploy high sec POSes.
Anyone have any suggestions on getting this up? I have alot of newish players in my corp, and I'd hate to force them to run missions. Basically I need clarification of how the corp faction standing is calculated.
Thanks!

average value of all who have standings to that particular corp/faction...
as far as i can tell people with null standings are not counted, but as soon as they get 0.000000000001 they'll be included in the calculations.

Um that really needs to be rethought then . . . If I have a 8.0 standing and I have a noob with .04 standing. Why the hell should my hard work be negated for taking in new players?
lol, tell me this isn't true.

One man corps are the way to go - then make an alliance with your real corp.

Isn't this one of those things we should riot about?

yah making it a corp standing thing is stupid, unless if you have 8.0 standings you can do it regardless of the corps standing. its a pain in the ass to get 8.0 standings, and in any decent sized corp you going to get people with weak standings in that faction to bring down your average

Are the 'leases' needed checked every time they are renewed, or only when the POS is deployed? Otherwise, kick the low rated players till the POS is deployed, then re-sign them. Food for thought

Originally by: Xajo i found out the hard way about the standing averages, i have 8.3 standing and a player in my corp has .08 so has lowerd my corp to 3.7
Hummm... I'm not sure about the standing average thing, cause i've made a test using 2 alts to make a corp and do some missions with them, then i expelled the char that wasn't the ceo and standings don't seem to have changed, while they should be exactly the same as the only char left in the corp
So, i think corp standings work this way:
Corp Standing Changes = Each Members Standing Changes / Number of Members in the corp So, if a member get a 1% Standing increase with a faction in a 50 members corp, the corp standing increase with that faction would only be 0.02%
But obviously, in a 1 man corp, changes to corp standing would be 100% of the member standing changes
But i think that the following also apply when a new player join a corp:
Corp Standing = ((Corp Standing * (New Number of Players in the corp - 1)) + New Player Standing) / New Number of Players in the corp
So, if a player with a standing of 0.5 with a faction join a corp of 3 players that has a standing of 8.5 with that faction, the new corp standing would be:
((8.5 * (4 - 1)) + 0.5) / 4 = 6.5
But if a player with a standing of 0.5 with a faction join a 1 man corp that has a standing of 8.5 with that faction, the new corp standing would be:
((8.5 * (2 - 1)) + 0.5) / 2 = 4.5
This would be to prevent someone to start a 1 man corp, raise corp standing really high by doing lots of missions while still alone in the corp and then, get plenty of members who would then be in a corp with uber standings
I don't know if it's how it actually works in the game right now, but to me, it should be that way -----

Corp members with no standing toward a faction is not counted
I have 9.5 standing with Mordu's Legion, and my corp's standing toward Modus are also 9.5, proberbly because Im the only one in the corp that has any standing toward them at all.
