Imagine a world where you no longer have to be continually assaulted by corp recruitment adverts and religious quote toting secure containers. Don't like the message, hack the container & change it! You don't get access to the the stuff inside, but you would be allowed to modify the message to something less offensive (to YOU) which sticks till downtime or whatever.
This would create a whole other type of PVP. Folks trying to advertise using this mechanic would have to "protect" their container. No more anchor & forget.
Think of the fun!!!!!!!!! |

or better, actually allow people to break into cargo containers and steal the stuff if they hack it. if they fail the hack or take items out of the can they get a suspect timer, however changing the name wont trigger any aggro's |

I would love nothing more, but I think that would generate too many tears, unless there was a way to booby trap your secure container, so whoever hacked them takes a big whack of damage.
Changing the name is basically my suggested compromise. Sure, keep your npc corp container anchored and contents safe, but good luck controlling what it says =)

41 hours for owner to respond like with a POS. Notification upon successful "virus" hack into container that will unlock it in 41 hours.
As long as it's possible to defend stuff without being online 24/7 it would be nice.
Just as well as the dead POSes should be hackable. But those should give 1 week notice and only be hackable after 2 weeks of being offline.
That way players get to clean up the space.
Empty secure containers could have less time.
And of course both things should incur suspect flag. Which is really not an issue.
EvE-Mail me if you need anything.
