On Singularity, I just took out 4 rats in 2 different belts in a 0.3 system. Something appeared called an Aggression Countdown (yellow letters, upper-left corner of screen), and it reset to 15 minutes after I started my second attack in the next belt... What's up with this?! If this appears every time I kill a rat I will seriously reconsider whether to play this game anymore... Can anyone provide more info on this?

I don't know what the implications of this are. I could still jump gates, dock, etc. with this timer.

How usefull this is when you kill npc's is questionable. Probably a bug.

Edited by: Kotori on 12/12/2005 23:12:40 Edited by: Kotori on 12/12/2005 23:11:26 the aggresion timer is how long you will count as agressed: If you have not commited any aggression (players or otherwise), and you logout, your ship disapears pretti fast. If you have commited aggression, and you logout, your ship will warp out from where you are, but if a player was to use scan probes before the timer ran out, they would be able to catch you, simple as. So basically, if you are agressed, logging out is not necesarily safe :) It can also be used for pirating in low sec, to tell you wether or not it is safe to go to the sentry guns Hope that helped

p.s. no wonder IRON lose so much :D

So... what if I've just killed a rat, i'm labeled as an aggressor - and suddenly I lose my connection to the Eve client? Just like that, I'm an open target to anyone who decides to use me for shooting practise?! This doesn't make any sense!

He's talking NPC rats not another player. Dont know why they would put an aggro timer for NPC's.

It shouldn't be coming up as a result of NPC aggression. (All prior info has been that NPC's dont count in the agression system)
Most likely it is just graphical (ie no actual effect other than the timer on the screen) If its not just graphical then likely that would be something they wouldn't go live with till it was fixed.
Not something to get too worked up worrying about, Possibly worth bringing to light to be on the safe side though, just in case. . ----- Apologies for any rambling that may have just occurred.

perhaps they have inclined to include it for NPC rats - which if its not meant to be there log a bug report post haste.
