(I have removed angle brackets or the forum will complain)
Reproduces on the latest fresh-installed client, file name was eve-premium_008261_571887-mac.dmg.
Looks like an easy fix for you awesome devs, I could have fixed if it were open-sourced... Anyway I would appreciate it if I could have a workaround since I'm not able to self-update the updater now. |

Unfortunately, the patching process does not support case sensitive file systems at this time and it will likely remain unsuppported. As such, the only workaround at this time would be to install EVE on a different drive or partition with a case insensitive file system or redownloading the whole client installation after each patch and reinstall the client. could it maybe be an option to move the eve installation to a mountpoint that is all lowercase? Little Things to improve GëíGïüGëí-á| My Little Things posts |

The launcher is accessing my home directory so I don't think installing EVE client on a different partition will solve this problem.
Redownloading the whole client? That's impressive... Only if that's the only option, or I will definitely take it as a joke.
Won't you just use /tmp for downloaded caches instead of a permanent directory in user's home directory? |

I also have a case-sensitive file system, which was a mistake in hindsight, but I just don't want to go through all the pain to fix it right now. And, I actually only have a single issue: Eve.
My solution to the previous version was this: 1. Create a disk image with an all lowercase name . "eve_img", I think I called it. 2. Make a soft link from "volumes" to "Volumes". 3. Install and run Eve from the Image.
The new launcher, on the other hand, uses a file in my home directory which is hopelessly mixed case, even by default. "Users" is the first problem and goes on from there.
So, this may not be (or have been) supported, but it did work. The new launcher broke it and I am now unable to play Eve on my Mac.
Please understand this has nothing to do with re-downloading, re-installing, etc. |
