Not sure what I'm more angry about ... the fact that RMR is being installed right now without any prior notice and that I'm going to miss out on a day's worth of training ... or the fact that there's a snide little tag at the end of the new blurb on the eve client saying, "hey, don't forget to set yourself a long skill to train..."
umm... thanks

While I admit it would have been nicer if the ingame news article proclaiming the launch and estimated down time were up a bit sooner, there is a sticky on the RMR launch which had you been following (and why wouldn't you follow the sticky that was all about the next major content update for the game), this would not have been a surprise to you.

I found out and I live in Aus. But if you knew it was coming from last week you'd have done the smart thing and put on a 9 day skill train.
Sucks to be you :(

I am in a similar fix, I just returned to EVE for the first time since beta a couple days ago. It was just my bad luck that that the upgrade was happening so soon.
I admit that I did see the notice but intented to get back to the game before the downtime to train something longer. I guess I lost the day.
Here is the real shame ... I took two days off of work to prepare for a final exam and due to a possible snowstorm the teacher gave the exam early, now I have a couple free days and want to play EVE and it is down.

It happens. If you search the Eve website why would you not look in the DEV Blog or the Patch notes?
So what if you lost a days worth of training. I believe I have lost a few myself and I am not going to cry about it.

u guys lol, i live in FLORIDA when huracan catrina hit us we didnt had electricity or internet for a month, including cable, it did give me some time to rest for a litte bit, i was playing 18 hours a day and i was already feeling a litte bit tired after 1 month, anyways i lost a month of training and i am sure there is no way that any1 that looses that much time without training would be reconpensated in any form. and i bet that if they start doing that the other players would be absent and not playing the game for a couple of months and then asking for a WILD CARD or something like that to lvl up the skills they wish for. the best thing to do would be to pay a lot of attetion what is going on in EVE WORLD.
