IGÇÖm a new player of eve and still learning some new stuff every day.
So last night I went out to scan and hack and see what I have learned and came across a data site were I hacked and found a original blueprint worth a few isk. Then I went out and hacked again and found a combat site I went there to my bitter spite and got popped. i went to get a ship and went back to the site to salvaged my wreck but my blueprint went from original to a 3 run copy, please can some one tell my why and give a explanation please.

IGÇÖm not mistaken because i looked at the blueprint and it was a 1000 run max copy, but what I was wondering in the time i went to get a ship there was a player at the combat site as well, could they have not taken my original and changed it with a copy they had or made a copy of that one ?? |

You might have been confused by the difference between the max run number and the actual number of runs remaining. |

1000 run max copy means nothing in a BPC. It means that you could copy the original for maximum 1000 runs copies, but that info is basically useless if it is already a copy. As far as I know only copies can be found in sites, no originals.
And your assumption that a player looted your wreck to replace original blueprints with copies- that made me giggle, and I think I'll totally have to do this one day, just for laughs. Just think of how bad an average post by me is, and then realize half of them are even worse |

Not sure you can put stuff back into a wreck; only take it out. |

It's highly unlikely anyone who is going to take your stuff is going to give you a compensatory equivalent. Copying a blueprint requires laboratory station services so there's no way that anyone on site could have grabbed an original, docked in a lab station, run a copy and got it back out to your wreck... I'm not even sure it's possible to add to a wreck...
More likely you're in error...
It is worth noting that the number of liscenced production runs remaining and the maximun runs per copy are two seperate attributes and that the maximum runs per copy attribute does not indicate a Blueprint Original. |

okay thanks , must have been human error then, but one last thing if u get popped does your items in the wreck loose some of there value and integrity or does all stay the same because I have lost some of my items but not all rigs and that was gone but got back GÇÿ the blueprintGÇÖ guns and ammo |

When your ship is destroyed one of two things happens to the modules (and other stuff) that are fitted and/or in any type of bay in your ship.
1. They are destroyed 2. They are dropped as is
AFAIK the chance of either happening is fifty-fifty. There is no degradation.
Wolfrick VonStorm wrote:I have lost some of my items but not all rigs
On a ship death all the fitted rigs are always destroyed. If this did not happen you encountered a bug which you should report. All the rigs in a bay are subject to the 50/50 rule.

You will lose some modules installed in the ship that got popped, but all items that were in your cargohold when popped aren't lost and can thus be found in the wreck. The items/modules might need repairing once you get them back but I'm not entirely sure about that. If it does, then that's also the only way they lose value, but a simple repair will fix this. They won't change from a meta 4 to a meta 3 or from a blueprint Original (BPO) to a blueprint Copy (BPC).
There are several ways to determine wether a BP is a BPO or a BPC. You can see it on the icon, since BPO's have a blue/dark blue color where BPC's have a light blue color. When you press show info the BPO will show Original blueprint (Original in green) in the first field of the attribute tab where a BPC will say Blueprint copy (copy in grey). A few fields down in this same tab there is a field stating wether it's a copy yes or no.
Also, salvaging a wreck won't get you any of your modules/cargo back. It's merely the looting of a wreck that can give you modules/cargo. Even though salvaging can be quite profitable, salvaging will only get you salvage materials (like circuits, interfaces, etc.).

Yes, the good old "swap the blueprint"-trick. Works all the time and like a charm. I always carry tons of blueprints with me and then chuckle madly, knowing how confused they will be. Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling. |
