I don't see how a country that has to raise its debt ceiling every few months is as powerful as you make it out to be. I made this mistake once and this will only lead to anger and mutual insults. I do not fear a good discussion but this is not the place. And many thinks are hard to express in English if English is not your mother tongue. My point and my opinion are in this case: These beauty "ideals" coming from the USA (Hollywood etc.) through the Global(Amerikan-)ization. I am not alone with these opinion but based on my knowledge I came to the same conclusion.
Well based on my knowledge of what you seem to know about America you either see very skewed version of it. Although Hollywood may very well be a cultural hub it is still the machinations of many world cultures, just because it is on American soil does not mean that it is 100% American. To point out a similar idea, Geneva Switzerland is somewhat of a scientific hub yet Scientists of all forms go there for study and research, they are all not from one nationality and as such we do not grant all scientific achievements from Geneva to Switzerland. Also you say that you do not wish to discuss politics yet you still bring up this idea of 'Global(Amerikan-)ization'. Maybe you would have a better foundation to your end of the debate if you do not go back on what you said before in your very own post.
I know people from Germany and have quite a fair few internet spaceship friends from there who tell me all about their government, economics, and 'inner workings' as you like to call them, but that does not mean that I have enough information to form an educated opinion on the subject because I have not walked the life of a German citizen for a decent chunk of my life. No matter how much you think you know you really never know enough until you have experienced it for yourself.
Also you can stop spitting out that 'Americanisation' quote because Henry Kissinger made that book/novel/paper/essay in 1977 and even he himself has moved well beyond that idea. I would suggest reading up on some of his later books such as 'Oh China'. Honor is a fools prize. Glory is of no use to the dead.

That is right. But I do not take my information from "ordinary" people alone like when I talk to people here. I only complete the picture and of course I like to speak with native people. But the fact is also that native people like Americans of the USA or Germans about Germany mostly have no idea what is going on in their own country or the world. It mostly lacks on the big-picture.

I only added Kissingers quote for completion. It is not so important. I set my opinion long before I knew what he said based on many sources and thinkings. |

Ehh, perhaps I'm right and you're wrong, or you're right and I'm wrong, or perhaps the truth of the matter is somewhere in the middle, or so far off that neither of us are close. I do apologize for being so harsh but truth be told I just really don't like it when the greater America is blamed for things that are really just stereotypical. When you mentioned Hollywood I should have read closer and realized that you were indeed talking about Hollywood, which was entirely my bad, as Hollywood itself does bring on the image of the woman with enlarged 'attributes'. I, along with many people I know; however, do not agree with Hollywood's image of a woman.
But as I said before I do apologize for lashing out at you and do respect your opinion, as all of us are entitled to one. Honor is a fools prize. Glory is of no use to the dead.

I think all cultures must live with stereotypes. Being a German mostly results in being a Na zi. This also frustrates me because so the Germans lose their national pride because of our history. So I can understand your reaction. By holding the old flag of Black-White-Red the people think you are a Na zi although it is our true historical flag and symbolized the German unity of 1871. To add some other examples of stereotypes. No to mention leather pants and bear. I should also apologize for my "Anti-American"-views. This was also not right.

Yes but the people in this time saw a chubby woman as healthy and reproductive. And I doubt the the woman of this time had silicon breasts. But the newer "ideal" is skinny and big (mostly artificial) breasts at any cost. |

After WWII, the US was an economic and industrial powerhouse. The worst think is that the USA does not pay for its imports. Except the fact that the state is in fact bankrupt and pays by printing money, the USA have no foreign currencies. They buy cars from Germany as example by lending Euros from the Deutsche Bank and than pay with it. With debts. But some one has to pay the bill because the companies do not want bad debts. So the German people pay for it. With others words German cars a gifts to the US-people by the German people.

Better would be to say because of WW II the USA becomes such superpower. The goal of WW II was not only to prevent the upcoming catastrophic economic crisis with the destruction of all assets in Europe like they try today (****** was driven by banks and the economy to start and expand the war [Sounds familiar?] and was also financed by the USA) but also to destroy the old superpowers in central Europe, the third German Empire and Austria after it seems that the German Empire will lose the war. The goal of the weakening the German/Austrian powers was also the goal of England and France mainly after WW I which lead in result inevitable to WW II. With the fall of old Europe the way was free for the USA to rebuild Europe from which their wealth mainly comes. But I agree.

Nothing new to me. If the USA would put the whole military spending into their society (education, health care, infrastructure, medicine, peaceful science etc.) and would finally dismantle the private banks and the FED the USA could become of what their founding fathers have dreamend of and which ideal the USA of today betrayls. |
