Heavy undercutting is a strategy to remove and chase people from the market. It works, you are an idiot. |

I really pity the people who still babysit market orders. They're like miners with tendonitis. |

Your all idiots, no one here is doing anything in any market, that's going to "upset me" and stop my trader character from making a maximum profit in a way that takes the least amount of my time away from playing my main character, without cheating. I run a tight board, I only trade in about 50 orders, I make 2 or 3 bil a month, only takes a small amount of my playing time, and I don't cheat and don't see a need for it. Anyone trading that wants to put the effort in to screwing with someone from making ISK on a product they want to control isn't trading to make ISK. I guarantee you while your playing games I'm making more ISK. Go ahead and tell me how you make 10 times a month than me, but "whats the point" either your cheating or your consumed with trading and not really playing the game
So what you're saying is that you are the best trader in the game? .

Trading is not part of the game?
Then what do you do?

You don't have to overbid a buy order that does not compete with you, especially if you are trading in a major hub and another buy order appears in a different system at a limited range.
Example:
Step 1: Jak has a Jita buy order for Item A at 50 isk, range = jita 4,4 station.
Step 2: Sam places a bid for same item in Osmon at 70 isk, range = Caldari Navy station in Osmon.
Step 3: Stupid Jak who updates his orders compulsively feels the urge to overbid Sam and updates to 70.01.
Now all Jita starts bidding over 70.01 and we can hope to return to the 50isk mark 20-30 days later.
EVE is infested with idiot Jaks, trader wannabees.
Amateur traders need to learn 101 basics before investing their hardly earned money in this profession. It is not just about blindly updating orders.
This screenshot is almost a snapshot of what I'm talking about but it is not a fair representation since the difference is only 0.01 isk between the 2 orders and not as high as 40% as in my example. But the 40% jump happens a lot with the same kind of mentality portrayed here.
EDIT: You know what, just ignore the screenshot. It is not a fair representation and it undermines my claim. |

Hi! I'm a big bad trader. My Trade-peen requires a freighter to move. I quadruplicated all of everyone's ISK in five minutes. Ha ha, whatever, I am winning and am superior trader and trolling you. And tears. Or something.

Gazzy Mendelions wrote:So, I'm a successful station trader making about 2 bil a month.
I love station trading as it brings in the iskies, but there is one part about it that I can't stand, The IDIOT station traders who try to strong-arm the market to sell/buy an item quicker who really are destroying the profits on the market.
Here's my message to you:
STRONG-ARMING THE MARKET DOESN'T WORK. SOMEONE IS JUST GOING TO BUY/SELL IT MORE MORE/LESS BY 0.01 ISK. AND IN THE END, YOU'RE JUST DESTORYING THE PROFIT FOR OTHER PEOPLE.
Its called "Hit and Run".
The way the system is, makes this one of the best known annoyances in Market trading, there is no way around it < make note of corp name. |
