Hey guys
So after being away for a few years mostly due to not having time to play I've decided to return to EVE again but I feel unsure about what to do.
I am currently piloting a Raven and doing lvl 4 missions and have mostly just been doing missions during my time in EVE.
When I started playing EVE I tried a little of everything before deciding on what direction to take, but I eventually ended up flying a gun boat but I later changed to missiles and trained for Drake/Raven. However after a while I realised that I miss having guns, it was more fun that missiles so when I quit playing I was very bored with flying a missile boat and was planning to try something new.
So now I'm not sure how to proceed with my training, I have some support skills that I need to train first but after that should I continue with a Raven or maybe train gunnery and try a Rokh instead, or perhaps retrain for another race? (In that case probably Amarr, even if it'll take a long time to retrain). I'm also having some thoughts about trying out a mining career but I think I'll make an alt if I decide on that.
Here's my current skills http://eveboard.com/pilot/Celia_Caldaria
Anyone got any advice for me on what to train? |

I can't really pick another race for you to train. That has to be something that you think YOU might like. And if you pick Amarr, they have some awesome ships and are a fine crosstrain imo. The same could be said for all races though.
I can recomend that you do some drone skills to V. Every race uses them and no matter what you choose, they need to be better than they are now.
You have done a great job staying Caldari and getting some great missile skills up to this point. Just apply that same aproach to your next race and you will be fine.
As for missions or whatever career, look for an active corp and you might have more fun. I sense a little boredom from your post. I do a lot of solo stuff myself, to kill time and stay entertained somewhat, but EVE is really a LOT more fun when you get in a good corp.
Mining: Is not my thing. I have done it, have a great mining tune, mostly hate it. |

I was sorta the same way as the op. I went from pretty much maxed missiles and engineering stuff (shields) to rails/blasters/Rokh then decided to branch out to Amarr LazorPewPew. I'm no rp'er but hey are allied to the Caldari state and I liked the idea of training up their ships and getting my armor skills up, not to mention the wonder and beauty that is Scorch. Hell, they even have a couple missile ships.
If you are looking for a gun missioner the I think you may be unhappy with the Rokh. It's a fine fleet sniper but not so much for pve in comparison. Amarr has great gunboats for pve and far more drone options.
Like the other guy said, train up your t2 drones and skills. At the VERY least any battleship missioner should have 5 T2 Hornet or Hobgoblins at all times. Don't bother with Sentries unless you have a specific plan or if you go Gaylente.

Well, I'm not really bored at all with EVE, I just want something different than missiles atm. The main reason for not joining a corp yet is a severe lack of time to play, it doesn't feel like a good idea to join a corp if you barely have time to do some solo missions once in a while but hopefully I'll get more time soon and then I'll definitely join a corp.
Yeah I agree that my drone skills are somewhat lacking, I've been concentrating on missile skills so far just to be done with it that alot of skills have fallen behind a little. But I'm currently training drone skills and will train some more support skills when I've got my drone skills up to a decent level, after that I will probably train Amarr ships and weapons.
Got any advice on what ship and turret type to concentrate my training on as Amarr? Since I fly a Caldari bs I don't really feel like I need to train Amarr bs right away so maybe it would be a good idea to train for some other ship type to get even more variation? |

Celia,
You already have gotten started on the Hybrid Guns so I would recommend focus on Gallente and continue to buff out your rails. The Caldari do have good gun boats as well as the missile ones but for a more pure gunnery experience if you want to use the skills you have now look to the rails.
I recommend all pilots train all races frig's to L5 eventually along with all the small ship weapons.
I am relaunching my old corp during the next week. Casual members are welcome here at Covert Agenda. |
