Looks like you might have a .txt file in your eve directory that is not a valid exported trade file or readme.txt... There is some checking for this but obviously it needs improvement.
Originally by: nexusvt100 I just downloaded 0.9.1
Still getting this whenver I try to run it. It still doesn't let me go back to using the old version either.

Hey would it be possible in the next release to enable the user to order the results by the other values and not just by pure profit margin?

i had the same problem just go into your eve directory and delete all the txt files including the readme files and stuff.
just make sure its .txt files only else you might break eve :)
but after i did that it worked out fine.

Hi, I just downloaded and run that tool, the only thing I miss atm is the market files for the items. But from what I read on the query screen, now im not sure it can do the thing I need it to do. I dont need a trade route right now, I have a crapload of named items and I wanna know in which region they sell the best. So I was thinking of going into 2 or 3 region and export the market file for each item and use that tool to find the best place to sell it. Is it possible to do that with evetrader ? which kind of query I should run ? If not, which tool can do it ?
thx for answers, and it seems a nice tool for haulers :)

Seems that the program doesn't like eve being on my second partition.

I have been using the program for several days with good results.
However, for the last 24 hours, when I try to access through IGB, I get a message "connection refused".
What could be causing this?

Great program this - well done.
Couple of points/improvements tho:
1) When you select your max isk setting it doesn't take this into account when you do toplist so you have to manually scroll down quite a few to hit your isk bracket.
2) Is it possible to enhance the tabling on these to make the text within smaller and maybe use a font like verdana (looks good small) so you can fit more data onto a page for easy reading - I can help with this if required but imagine you have it all coded in java whereas im a php/html guy.
Hope this helps - keep it up.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I believe that Toplist lists routes by profit available. You may only need to use 500K ISK for a trade route that brings you 1M ISK vs using 2M ISK for a trade route that brings you only 800K ISK profit. Add your cargo space availability to this. Depends on the item you are trading and your cargo space available. Many of my top trade routes require much less ISK to run than my maximum ISK specified but are more profitable.

This is avery useful tool; great job!
A feature that I would really like to see is some sort of sorting ability, e.g. sort based on system security or sort based on number of jumps etc.
Keep up the good work!

Edited by: Twilight Moon on 07/02/2006 23:03:50 Bugger me, this is excellent! Thanks to your little tool, I found a round trip route that gives 460,000 ISK profit for only 1 jump each way....and I'm only a newbie in a Hoarder (now with Instas). That'll soon be a Mammoth btw.

easiest thing to do to sort that list after different criteria is to use excel it has that nifty import webimport function. So you just start the programm and use excel and you can work with the data you get as much as you like! VScorpion Leutenant Sales and Trade The Fellowship of the Fallen |

The program will only use the most recent file of that specific region/item pair. The older file will be archived.

Edit: Just one question. Say I have a File listing the prices of Quafe in Tash-Murkon, and the program is using that. If I was to then make another file listing the prices of Quafe in Tash-Murkon an hour or so later, will the program then use the latter file? (or do I have to go and delete the now out-of-date old file manually)

Hmm.....is there any way to stop it from archiving the market files when it starts up?
It crashed on me when I ran 7 complete reigon market listings through it, and I was quite irritated to find that when I started it up again, it decided to dutifully archive all the market dumps (they were only an hour old - send to me via MSN from other players) from my EVE directory, leaving me with a very long task of dragging each file back from its archive location.

Do I understand this correctly that this tool will only calculate the best possible trades within the region of the export file? Not calculate trades from region to region?
Great tool either way. Thanks!

Yes, there is an option 'Archive files on startup'

If you could tell me exactly what happened (or even better give me the test data) i can get this problem fixed in the next version.

I tend to bump up my cargo capacity using containers but not all items can go into them such as frozen foods and the likes. Any chance you can make it so that it takes this into consideration?

The latest patch started storing the exported Market files in a different location, and this seems to have broken things in ways that pointing the code to the current location (i.e. pretending that EVE is installed there) does not fix.

Actually the latest patch seems to have removed the buying data from the exported files as well as moved them. This of course completely destroys the ability to use trade finder and any other application that relied on this data.
I'm hoping it was an error on their part and that they are going to fix it. ----------- Ragna |

Why do you always have to "register" just to download some file? I've never gotten that. I can see asking for registration where things like comments or messages are exchanged, but to download one little file?
Probably a neat tool, and probably a fine site, but I'm tired of "registering" at every little website where I just need one little file.

Bonjour,
Je viens de rTcupTrer cet outil, mais j'ai beau faire tout ce que vous dites (changer le path a /.../marketlogs ; faire "export files"), le logiciel me dit toujours
"No suitable files found, goto the market screen and select the 'Export to file' button"
Merci.

Edited by: Devian 666 on 27/06/2007 00:29:45 Ok the logs have been moved to a new folder after this recent patch. What I do is go into the eve directory in 'My Documents' and copy them to a folder on my harddrive. I then set up the program to access that folder only.
For some reason it doesn't like the path name to the market logs.
Edit: copy the files into the directory after you start the program as it archives everything in preparation for fresh market files. Soooooo inappropriate! -Incognus I agree I don't have the features to be a holoreel star. |
