I just got the BPO of one of the two AC L ammos. I am curious which one people will like more for pvp -- barrage or hail? As I understand it, barrage tracks a little better (0.1 as opposed to 0.05 of hail). Hail does more damage but costs cap. Hail also has the same range "bonus" as EMP (-50) while barrage has 0.
Compared with EMP L and just using the base sheild/armour damage, barrage does 2.4% more damage and hail 31.8%.
Given the production price, only PvP will be relevant here I think. Which one would you want to bring with you into battle? ------------- You have to go out of your mind from time to time to stay sane. |

The one with more tracking and -50% range bonus.
Autocannons like Blasters relaying on falloff more then on optimal. -=-

Yes, my bad. Barrage has "falloff modifier" of 50 and "range bonus' of 0. Hail has "falloff modifier" of 0 and "range bonus' of -50. ------------- You have to go out of your mind from time to time to stay sane. |

Edited by: Rexy on 22/12/2005 20:37:57 i'd use both, fallof for more range, and the other one because it just bbq's at closer ranges. dont forget to bring emp and phased plasma though, because both types equally suck at trashing anything tanked against kinetic/explosive. like shieldtannks and amarr ships :|.
i'd say with large the bqq variant gets used more, 20km or 30km isnt all that interesting. however i bet it's gonna be used a lot on small and med autocannons, a vagabond can stay outside web range with it, and no more orbeting outside of range for crows(edit, plated rocket crows off course).

I haven't ever used AC on a BS myself. Is range and tracking so important? On the cruiser level, it seems damage is more important. ------------- You have to go out of your mind from time to time to stay sane. |

Where's the damage going if you don't hit? >_>

Very true. :)
I guess I should have phrased my question better. Is there a tracking problem with L AC as opposed with M AC? (my experience is only with PvE) ------------- You have to go out of your mind from time to time to stay sane. |

So far i can say no, unless your using 800 ACs against smaller then BC targets without webbing them.
Dual 650 ACs get pretty much better at this part while dealing overall less damage, but dps difference is maybe between 20 to 40 DPS. -=-

I'll use 'em both. The high damage one for ganking **** in groups, the other for solo/smaller group pvp.
