If so i would be delighted to buy some, i like CCP and i like EVE, but most important than that i would like to invest in a corporation that with a forthcoming future in game developement.
Knowing CCP since Beta 4, their rate growth can be seen by everyone and i think in a "near" future it may become one of the leading MMORPG game design corporations in the world.
I think CCP has a very diferent line of aproach on this market, and will "soon" make more games (other than EVE) to our great delight.
Are you guys thinking in launching shares in Icelandic Market (or anyother for that matter) but still be in control of it? (I don't want Sony Online to buy 51% of CCP )

I would like the opportunity to show up at CCP's next board meeting to complain about caldari being underpowered. ------------------------------------------------ Derailing threads with logic since 1992 |

I was under the impression that Siminn (Iceland Telecom) owned a good chunk of the company, but that's awfully dated info.

However, if you want to make money of the ongoing success of eve, then, according to GMs postings, you should buy shares of beerbrewers, I think

CCP should consider a stock offering. It could still be a privately held company, but if they issued more stock, they could raise a ton of capital (not sure if they need it at this point though).
I'd love to own a coupla hundred shares for the hell of it.

There is an Icelandic Stock Market:
Quote: Issuers who wish to list their shares on ICEX, may choose either a listing on the Main List, which is an official stock exchange listing, or on the Alternative Market, which is a regulated OTC market
I found this about Icelandic Telecom:
Quote: Following the merger and the attendant share capital increase, shareholders in Skipti own 96.99% of Iceland Telecom.
And:
Quote: Skipti purchased a 98.88% share in Iceland Telecom in summer 2005 for ISK 66.7 billion, i.e. at a price per share of ISK 9.6.
I guess the use of ISK in the game was a little joke by CCP; it stands for the Icelandic Krona.
I might try to track down more; you can google the Icelandic Stock Exchange and try your luck to track down the company.

I hope they don't go public for a long time. Being a private company allows them to chart out their own course and materialise their own vision. Having a bunch of shareholders looking over your back might put pressure on the developpers to 'dumb down' the game to make it 'appeal to a wider public' or something crappy like that. Private initiative FTW!

CCP will never go public. The fact that their private is what has made them a sucess. They dont need to worry about shareholders, all they worry about is the playerbase. US. They'll never sell out because they know that if they do then EVE, their dream, will get royally fraked! Unless i buy everything Rich Minmatar *****es 4tw :)
