The current UI of "three layers" of your modules is too cumbersome in the day and age of battleships which have so many slots (high and medium).
What I'd like to see is an alternate UI that displays each of the slot types laid out one on top of the other in rows.
Ie; first row is all the high slots, 2nd the med and 3rd the lows.
That way, we can see all the modules on our ship at a glance and see which are active and which aren't. We can also *quickly* activate/deactivate them as needed.
It's the little things that count...

I can agree that there needs to be an UI overhaul, but there is actually a forum for suggestions...

There's a planned UI overhaul that I believe will deal with this issue, but it was delayed by other more pressing matters.
I imagine that at some point CCP will be able to return to this.

Hmm, i'm doing quite fine with the F-keys... no need for any overhaul any time soon me thinks. But then again this overhaul was supposed to be in for retail, if I remeber what was said in beta 6/7.
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

You do remember correctly. The new UI was supposed to be in for launch.

If I remember my timeframes correctly (and I allow that my memory is at times as leaky as a seive) around beta 6 they mentioned they were working on one, but I don't think they ever said it would make launch (I think they predicted a few months after).

Well I'm all in for a new UI, BUT you must also allow people to continue using the current UI system in case they don't like it. I imagine it will take up a larger portion of the screen to display all of my slots 8/5/6. My moniter isn't that big, and I like alot of VIEWING room on my screen, so I'll have to wait and see. Higher resolution of 1280x1024 (currently used 1024) isn't going to help as my computer lags horribly during medium-large combat.

Personally, I too prefer everything to be out of the way, and everything to be controllable via keyboard commands.
The F-keys are a good start, but honestly my fingers hurt at all the CTRL'ing, ALT'ing, and SHIFT'ing. We already have to click on the chat window to switch focus to it before we can type, why not allow regular keys to be mapped?
Anyway, hopefully it'll be a good UI. |

I agree that it should be toggled, that's why I said alternate UI.
