I have a new friend that is playing Eve and he has, on his own, taken up the role of ninja salvaging and harassing high sec mission runners. I applauded his initiative and thought that he might want to look into the Ninjas. Seems like they've gone inactive though - no real activity since April of this year.
Did TEARS dry up and die, become a new entity, etc.?
Yup, been livin' under a rock. Or maybe a Slaver Hound. But those videos with the Slaver Hound, the whipped cream, and the empty bottle of tequila were faked. Honest. CCP Sreegs is my favorite developer. |

The best ninja kills their target without anybody realizing said target is dead.
Odds are, the real Chribba has been killed, and the guy posing as Chribba on the forums and the game is really a ninja that took his place.

Did Suddenly Ninjas gank the Veldenaught and put an imposter of it in place too? THAT would be impressive.

I believe they went quiet after being flagged to everyone when they aggressed the mission runner. We all knew they couldn't actually PvP for toffee their version of PvPVE is now too dangerous I guess |

ok ok ok, let's get this straight
Suddenly are still playing just not as Suddenly alliance.
A few corps jumped ship and went to Marmite where they absorbed the failness of Tora Bushiod, RIP for those guys.
Others went to Petition Blizzard w/ Psyco Monk
and others who I know are still executing amazing shenanigans - I know this cause I just bought a Kronos from 1 of them after he "lifted" it off an unsuspecting corp applicant.

And here I tought this post was gonna be all about how you single-handedly made them go away.... Missed chance there bud.
Also; cry more about Tora and Marmites, we've been out of the spotlight for too many minutes now.

Bluing the wrecks denies the chance at aggro fu and getting kills (the real motivation after all) plus the Free Wrecks channel is alive and well and having lot of people in it these days.
Hopefully they have gone onto more creative butthurtery.

Nah, they were fine for quite a while after that. Eventually some alliance leadership had important things to do and others went inactive and it just kind of went downhill from there, especially when the Orca was nerfed and the older members started getting bored and leaving. |

I will say that I've seen ninjas a few times lately. I need to sec repair often, and since Odyssey changed security mechanics favoring highsec missioning over low/null cycle ratting, I've been doing that again. Had one ninja scan me down three times in fifteen minutes recently. Poor guy, he just wants fights and I wasn't looting anything even before he showed up.
I wished him well.

There is a difference between being in the spotlight because you deserve respect, and being in the spotlight with Michael Jackson syndrome, where everyone looks at you thinking "how could someone that used to have talent go so terribly wrong?"

I had left a bit before the VP incident so it's hard to remember the exact why's and when's... really a shame that the mechanics changed so much and their playstyle isn't really feasible anymore. |

Rest assured, this niche is being filled.
The Corp may have dried up, but the participants still play on (just in random corps now). For what we do a 'well known' corp name doesn't really help one get shot more often. |

Used to be if you flipped a loot can the only person that could shoot you was the can owner and his corpies, if any.
So a Ninja would scan down a L4 mission runner, warp in, flip a can, and wait for the mission runner to shoot at him.
This would be done in a cheapfit bait ship, usually a frigate.
If the mission runner shot at him, regardless if the bait ship died or not, the Ninja could now shoot back.......and would warp to an Orca sitting at a safe, grab a combat ship (pvp fit obviously) and then warp back to the mission runner and proceed to kill him. Sometimes a partner/alt would come along for logi backup (or just to salvage and loot the wreck).
Remember, the only one that could shoot you for stealing from a wreck was the original wreck owner (and his corp members, if he had any). Most mission runners are alone out there.......
Now, with Crimewatch, anybody, anybody at all can shoot at a canflipper/ninja looter for 15 minutes, and, in fact, many people hang out in mission areas waiting to pounce on poor ninja looters/canflippers.
Woe....woe is them.
