I have a smartwatch on preorder, Pebble to be precise. I have an automatic Rotary I got for my 21st, but I have to reset it every 2 days.
Getting interesting, were I inside Apple or advising them I'd be pointing them towards implant technology as thats where computers are going. Literately your eyeballs being replaced and upgraded, safer and cheaper to augment an eyeball than a brain, audio through the bone.
External devices will be seen as the Wireless Radio of the 21st century on the current path.

Japan : motivated by the wish to keep the Yamato pure in the home isles to develop cutting edge robotics instead of opening immigration.

Also, one must watch for the techno zombie that will step in front of your car. Over the past 5 years pedestrians hit by cars has risen for the first time in decades. Mostly due to increases in alcohol consumption and distraction by audio/visual technologies. |

Interesting how William Gibson just thought this up in 1983 while writing a novel on a manual typewriter. |

As far as I am concerned, it should be legal to use a baseball bat on anyone using Google Glass in your vicinity without your consent. The Greater Fool Bar is now open for business, 24/7. Come and have drinks and fun somewhere between RL and New Eden! |

Actually, there's both cheaper, and more covert methods to take pictures of people with wearable devices. You can get a much more covert wearable camera for $60. The existence of Glass doesn't enable perverts any more than they were before, and wearing Glass does not make one a pervert either.

I'm really glad you don't make laws. Like really glad. I have no damage resistance to baseball bats. (Though I admit, I'd be in favor of the ability to use a baseball bat on anyone wearing "low-riding" pants.) |

not really wearable related, but I find it (not so) "amusing" that cars are getting more high tech intergration as well. More sensors to show whats going on around you, when you are veering out of your lane and stuff. Sounds good? Not really, ask any motor cyclist how good most car drivers are paying attention to whats happening around them. Crap like this only makes that worse as theye dont "have to pay attention anymore".
Also, the goverment commercials about not using social media while driving(what, I'm not allowed to phone when driving? I'll just update my facebook status then to "lol, nearly hit a kid when driving my car just now. Lucky this time") wich is promptly followed by a car commercial thats promoting that car that has social media intergration in its satnav.... |

That's pretty much how its done in America, rightly so. Indeed it's illegal to use hands-on phone or texting while driving.
It's really not that big a deal. People drove for literally one hundred years without the capability. "Who thinks it's normal to kneel down to a naked man who's nailed to a cross? It's like a bad leather bar." -- John Waters |

Oh and this happened last week in San Fran:
Absorbed device users oblivious to danger
"A man standing on a crowded Muni train pulls out a .45-caliber pistol.
"He raises the gun, pointing it across the aisle, before tucking it back against his side. He draws it out several more times, once using the hand holding the gun to wipe his nose. Dozens of passengers stand and sit just feet away - but none reacts.
"Their eyes, focused on smartphones and tablets, don't lift until the gunman fires a bullet into the back of a San Francisco State student getting off the train."
Great. Now lets overlay some crap over the vision so all the Entitled Idiots can't even begin to see reality when they look up.
Count me out. "Who thinks it's normal to kneel down to a naked man who's nailed to a cross? It's like a bad leather bar." -- John Waters |
