ok, so basically....
I'm trying to figure out if it is better to orbit another frigate with a MWD or an AB in my interceptor(crow).
Assuming that my opponent is using turrets. I've been playing around with this tracking guide.
When using an AB i get roughly 1.15km/s and when using the guide i get an average of 500km/s transversal velocity to my opponent in different situations, with my signature resolution of 28 and my opponent using a 150mm railgun has very low chance of about 10% to hit at 5km orbit.
When using a MWD i get roughly a steady 2km/s orbit at 5km, with 172 sig res, and around 1.2km/s transversal vvelocity in different situations. The chance to hit at 5km using a 150mm railgun is extremly high at about 70%.
My information is just based on simple testing with that guide, and was wondering if my conclusions that orbiting with a AB is better then a MWD.

Hum... your transversal should be much higher than that...
Anyway, what you say is correct: assuming you are already in orbit, an AB is better than a MWD.
(reason is, as you have seen, in a steady orbit the AB speed/sig ratio is roughly twice the MWD speed/sig ratio, making you harder to hit with AB)
BUT! Remember that orbiting is only part of the battle. If you are facing another inty or a fast frig and said inty/frig has a MWD while you have an AB, it will manage the range as it pleases and you will be an a disadvantage.

AB's have always been better as far as on paper. However, once you get webbed that AB becomes more and more usless for the fact you can't do something like 600m/s while webbed by typical webbers. So trying to escape is very hard to do as well other things. If you plan on using an AB out of web range all together. Then you face the fact that your target might actually be faster than you. Thus leading to him catching and webbing you anyways.
But there is also the faction items in game to keep out of 10km while webbing outside of 10KM and still hitting strong over 10km while maintaining a nice AB. Which I would aim for if you can fit such things on a crow. It would be a nice setup to give you a great advantage over more inty's. However if you don't plan on going such a route. Then stick to MWD.
