NASA this NASA that.... Why NASA? Why not the Chinese guys who seem very very very interested in space exploration already and are progressing rapidly with no budget cuts? Ever think of that? Your money would be better spent overseas where it would do more good with communists launching **** into space. |

Mmm... Yes... Lets send Justin Beiber into space but without a spacesuit. Also lets put some holes into the craft itself. That should solve that problem. |

Genius!
But I think the op meant for the rest of us to blindly give our isk or cash to others who are smarter and can steward the proceeds in the intended direction better than the rest of us can.
Honestly, I am quite surprised to see such intelligence come from someone in a renter alliance.
Now back to the topic at hand. I too have a friend who is researching a warp drive. His name is Neonovus. Next time you pay 550m isk for a plex, consider sending him 50m isk to continue his research.
I must ask though, has anyone asked Chribba what he thinks of this idea? See Bio for isk doubling rules. -áIf you didn't read bio, chances are you helped fund those who did. |

I assume this friend of yours has mensa membership. If so, his intelligence deserves my 50mil isk each month. |

I am all for shoveling money towards people here that could use it, but frankly, there will always be poverty. Should we never try to do anything in space just because there are things we could do here too? What about the huge advancements in daily life (e.g. medical science) that have already come directly from NASA research?
This thread has strayed a bit from my original idea, but I don't see how it would affect anyone that didn't want to participate.

Plenty of private and civilian space companies out there -- invest in those, because there's too much government interference and bureaucratic "oversight" holding back the next generation of space exploration if it has to go entirely through NASA's hands.

Seriously, when was it ever ? Constellation/Orion/some unnamed manned capsule that looks just like Apollo... the boys from "Top Gear" have got a better chance of getting a new spacecraft into orbit than NASA does.

NASA - never a straight answer.
I'd be pissed if i was forced to donate to NASA when ever I use a plex but I'd have no issues with supporting smaller space research companies who are willing to take the risks and put humans on mars, or heck even the bloody moon. |

Indeed ... one of their best shows ever.
As for NASA, well, when and if another Congress ever sits and takes manned spaceflight seriously again it will only be because "push has come to shove"... racing and trying to catch up.
Again.

There will only always be poverty while there is greed and oppression.

I have some kind of flackey memory that NASA can't accept donations etc as they're a government agency or something. Also, CCP are Icelandic, so no doubt that'd add some kinda hindrance to it.
But, sure, it'd be nice to know that some money was going to something cool like that. Better would be knowing that CCP putting the money into making the game better and not over extending themselves to the point of bankruptcy :) |

Next "PLEX For": Real-Life Space Travel. You may gain the knowledge, but you will lose your belief, with all its mystery and comfort. If there was proof, absolute and certain, there is an afterlife, why not quit this life, and be done with it? Ponder about these things all your life, and you're a philosopher. Compress these ponderings into a couple of pages, and you'll go mad. |
