To train up lasers...
I'm a pretty new player and I am definitely still a noob and I'm still trying to figure out my style of play. I love small gang fights the most.
I'm sitting at about 25m skill points. All racial frigates, destroyers, and battlecruisers 5. (Thanks to the old BC skill) cruisers all 4. Because I can't figure out which T2 cruisers I like best. I haven't trained any battleship skill yet because I feel I'm too new to be flying battleships and they are a huge skill investment so I don't wanna touch them until I'm sure of what I want.
I mostly fly minmatar.. I can use t2 light missiles, rockets, heavy missiles, hams, small autocannons, small artillery, medium autocannons, medium artillery, small blasters, and small railguns.
I can tech 2 drones except large and sentry but I plan to get there pretty soon. (Fan of drones)
I like to armor and shield tank depending on my mood or situation.
I love webbing and I love cap warfare.
I'm glad I have good projectile skills because of their versatility and same goes for my missiles skills.
Basically I love the larger amarr ships and I love the bhaalgorn and hope to fly it one day. Also love the Oracle and abandon. I also feel if I ever flew a carrier I'd probably want to fly amarr. I love minmatar too. I love the versatility they have and the style of their ships.
Basically my question is. Should I waste a month getting t2 medium lasers or stay focused for now. I know if I get t2 medium lasers I'll probably start training for large lasers before I train large projectiles.
Sorry for the long post just wanted to give as much info as possible. |

The most prominent medium laser ships are:
- Omen - fast, high damage, medium drones; T2 lasers give it the ability to kite around with Scorch, along with better brawling ability
- Maller - giant brick with moderate damage, usually dismissed as bait; very poor against frigates. T2 lasers give it range flexibility it really needs, plus a bit more damage out of Conflagration
- Harbinger - even bigger brick, with big damage. Becomes a meatgrinder when fully T2 fit. Has trouble catching things, so Scorch can help it a lot.
- Zealot - kiting HAC lacking drones. T2 lasers are basically mandatory. Meta 4 beam lasers might work, but meh.
- Phantasm - cross between Maller and Harbinger, and faster than both. Shield tanking faction laser boat. Sort of sucks right now because everything was buffed around it.
- Ashimmu - neut and web bonused beast. Usually gets shot first because it can completely shut down ships by nuking their cap and webbing them to 10% of their speed. You usually have to pick two of the three: decent damage, good tank, good neuting. The damage is never spectacular, but that's not really its role anyway.
All of these greatly benefit from T2 lasers, mainly due to the addition of Scorch. So far as beam lasers go, T2 also helps by adding Gleam into the mix, which can really help if something caught up to you and you can't hit it.
Anyway, T2 lasers are definitely worth it, but only you can tell if they're worth it for you, right now. Hope this helped! ISD LackOfFaith Lieutenant Community Communication Liaisons (CCLs) Interstellar Services Department |

No one has ever regretted fitting T2 Heavy Pulses with Scorch.
No one. Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

why don't you train what you guys roam with. TA on wis: "when we have a feature that is its own functional ecosystem of gameplay then hooks into the greater ecosystem of EVE as a whole, and it provides good replayability."
