Quote:territory on a given planet that is currently owned by another corporation Anyone else see a gap in how planets are now, and what stated here?
Also, hooray for PI no longer being able to be done independently, or approachable by rookies!
PI was bad to start with, the single improvement done to it wasn't enough, and everything else being announced by it is just making it worse.
edit: also on the server architecture, that's pretty much the only way it could possibly work, so no surprise there, but good for the confirmation. |

I like that star map. Any chance we could get an update like that to the EVE star map? |

You sir, fail. You're right, because all EVE needs is for more parts of it to be closed off to more people. All EVE needs is more ways for players to be indefensibly griefed with no threat of retribution or loss. In the balance of "mad" and "bored" there isn't enough "mad" out there to get subs to drop to new lows. |

I predict a huge wave of buffs/nerfs that'll turn PI into the new AFK-mining/lvl 4 running right before this comes out. |

Id like to know how they plan to facilitate enough action for dust mercs. If battles are contingent on player contracts will there truly be enough contracts to provide enough content for the mercs. I can't imagine the potential wait times involved with it as well or if such a system can handle the alarm clock type ops that are demanded of null warfare.
Seems kind of counter intuitive to the twitch crowd. |

yes it needs parts of it closed off to people.
You werent here when they nerfed exploration so rookies could do it.
you werent here when they nerfed the skill requirements for bomb launchers, and flying cov ops and bombers, archeology and hacking.
So yeah. have no problem keeping parts of the game blocked off to them. If they want to be apart of that game, they need to work their asses off for it like the bitter vets did. |

And the MMOs-are-just-work-dressed-up-as-games stereotype gets another buff. It's gonna be fun watching these guys trying to wine and dine the FPS crowd. |

The only part of game play really covered in his example is Null sec merc contracts.
Keep in mind that (unless the plan has changed) many Empire planetary battles will be more like NPC organized events... random battles if you will... that a DUST player can join at will in between actual merc contracts.
Details are still scarce, so I have no idea what effect, if any, those battles would have on the people doing PI on those Empire planets. To kill the enemy and break their toys!
It's not so much a mission statement,-áit's more like a family motto. |
