What would you prioritize there? It's unlikely to downright impossible that the UI will receive a complete overhaul: it's be hard as hell to relearn, losing subscribers; it'd be expensive as hell in terms of resources.
However, Team Pony Express (now Team Kuromako) has been working on improving the UI in general, and I expect that this session will include CCP and the CSM talking about what UI improvements are a priority for players. I know from the crowdsourcing that the drone UI is a big one; what else is high up on your (everyone's) list? My own would focus on the POS setup UI, corp UI, and station UI, but those are all more specialized interfaces. OTOH, them working smoothly would be a boon to instigators and enablers, who tend to put a lot of effort in to content generation. http://warp-to-sun.tumblr.com -- my blog |

I think most UI issues aren't anything new. The things that I would like to see prioritized are corp and POS management UI. I also would like to see the overview settings to get the same treatment similar to the inventory filters. The overview is something everyone uses, yet is one of the most confusing parts of the interface to set up properly. |

The drone UI needs a complete overhaul: hotkeys for launching specific groups of drones/recalling/engage etc. It works like a cargohold, not a weapon system.
Planetary Interaction needs just a few tweaks: when looking at a planet, have it zoom to your space port/processors, not the command center. They aren't always near each other. Add functionality for shift+click. That way I can select all the processors and install the same job with the same route in one pass without having to set it individually for 16 processors. Same for adding routes/connections.
Additional tabs for your overview so you can have more tabs of settings.
corp management, specifically role management and what certain roles do: more granularity/customization would go a long way I think.
That little window that has the warp to/ align to/orbit etc hotkeys? Add a hotkey there for your jump drive capable ship, too. Either pre-select the person who will be lighting the Cyno, or have it be a dropdown, or a pop-up. The first would be ideal IMO.

+1 for refining the drone UI, which at this point is an embarrassing archaism. Thanks to CCP karkur for adding some drag-and-drop capability--it's greatly appreciated!--but mostly that interface needs to be dragged out of the mid-1990s.
As much as I love the general coat of polish being applied to the parts of the user interface that everyone uses, I'd like to ask for special consideration for the parts of the UI used by "enablers." They have enough to deal with without having to fight the user interface as well, and I'd like to see the corp management, POS, and industry UIs get priority. If the PI and fleet interfaces could get a round of polishing and streamlining, that would be nice, too. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

Drones need a lot of love.
Things I would like:
- link specific drone groups to unused function keys (F1-F12 unassigned or with passive modules on the corresponding high slot) so drones can be launched as simply as a weapon module is fired. - show drone damage status while in hold and manually/authomatically block launching of drones below a set damage (unless today it's a good day to die) - the abiility to set and change target size priorization for drone groups (yay, that goes batcrazy into AI land, but why not?) - a specific detachable drone control panel for drones in space (we have drone hold in a dark corner so it doesn't bothers with its silly cargohold menu, but that also locks active drones to a unprivileged part of the UI) The Greater Fool Bar is now open for business, 24/7. You should be able to change the size of every window (Science window stays stupidly large). You should be able to remove headers and borders on windows. You should be able to move all the UI elements independently.
I realize they don't want to do it, but the UI should be client side, and we should be able to change it like nearly every other MMO out there.
With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I'd add a revamped D-Scanner UI. Toggle AU/km scale, proper slider and handle, keyboard control, visual feedback on screen for angle and range.

I know that more than one Uni director (and one former CSM) would weep tears of joy at the sight of good corp interface overhaul.
From what I have been lead to believe the current corp management interface spawns demons from the deepest reaches of hell every time you try to do anything with it in a corp over ~20 members. |

More like an entire new piece of UI plus a ton of back-end functionality to handle this. Overall it's probably better-off on the forums for now >.> |

Give us the ability to switch mods from red to green after a missclick.

+1 for complete Drone UI Overhaul (not just band-aid changes to current system).
Look at how "pet management" works in other MMO's for possible inspiration where it's not such a chore, and the default behaviors are easier to implement. We definitely need the ability to drag drones/groups of drones into the modules section to quickly undock and attack/mine/salvage/rep a target or recall them. Of particular interest is trying to keep drones alive because they're such a chore to rep/manage and they're not cheap to replace. Possibly consider the ability to set a "return to bay threshold" for drones that will automatically dock up when they loose all shields or 50% armor, or whatever we want. Ever since the rat AI changes, using drones in PvE is more effort than it's worth. Perhaps there could even be a PvE module (high slot?) that would allow drones to "feign death" and drop NPC aggro upon activation for x seconds, to buy time to return to ship/get repaired. Perhaps there could be a module that passively reps shields/armor/hull damage of all drones in the bay slowly. Other suggestions I've read include instalocking your own drones (which makes sense since you've got a direct bandwith link to them). Again, I would look to how other MMO's have handled "pet classes" and managing multiple pets for inspiration. None are anywhere near as cumbersome as EVE for healing/spawning/recalling/managing aggro of your pets.
These changes should be balanced so they don't become OP in PvP situations (which is why new modules might be one solution which would be an acceptable trade-off for PvE but not PvP). |

Change the scanning interface so that moving probes in the Z-direction is not possible. Moving probes in a direction you cannot see is a bad UI design. (Indeed, having any UI element which makes significant changes to program state without providing feedback to the user is a bad design.) And it is very annoying the vast majority of the time it happens. It might have some slight utility for a few oddball probers (looking at you here Ali, crazy woman), but I'm willing to wager that nobody who probes for a living does it. Meanwhile, for us normal probers, it is a huge pain in the ass. I'd also wager it confuses newbies. At least, when I was a newb it confused me. |

We all know the UI needs lots of love.
+1 d-scan slider and AU conversion. Add an on screen marker for degree of scan, field of view (toggleable).
Save whatever you can server-side whenever possible: overview settings, NEOCOM organization, browser bookmarks. Window size and position probably wouldn't work owing to different screen resolutions (surprise me CCP!)
Saveable switchable window configurations. We organize things differently from PI, to mining, to PvP, to scouting, to Wormholes, to station trading and the overview isn't the only thing we change up.

What are you even talking about? You can rotate the map to see directional movement in all three axis.
