So it felt to me a normal EVE day in the normal universe. I decided to go to The Forge and check market prices of some items, I went to look at the ships and I decided to check the Drake prices. I was confused and my mind went all strange when I saw this...
http://i.imgur.com/XutW7Ds.jpg attack of the 4's!
What can explain selling all those Drakes at the same price as each other then. I want to know why they are all at the same prices because this is what I can put in one word, strange. |

Maybe someone hated the 0.01 ISK game and decided to sell all their Drakes at 44,444,444. Or maybe the HML nerf has taken on the Drake market |

It is not unusual for one player to cover several points of sale.
It is not strange at all. It is simply new to you, because you are a noob. Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling. |

Anyway, it looks like someone is trying to figure out how to manipulate regional averages or some such. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

The market appears to like the number 4. Sadly not 42
Maybe someone decided to sell all of their Drakes at that ISK?

You asked a question about something you saw in the market. Guess where those questions (and discussions) go?
There's also a separate form area for buying stuff.

TBH market discussion is more of looking for trade and deals. This thread is more for the how did this happen! I read general discussion for the fun and lol threads which this one is. |

The OP isn't asking a question specifically, it's more of he is sharing something with us which quite much belongs in General discussion.

why only one drake in each system?
Seems like a waste of logistics for an actual trader...unless the drakes were purchased there from buy orders.
Or maybe it's the leftover stock of some prolific caldari carebear, or *gasp* some haul from a recruitment scam.
The OP is right in that there's no immediately obvious, good reason for there to be drakes across several systems like that, but only one in each.
Mmmm, speculation.
Maybe the caches of someone who wanted to slightly avoid wardecs? Or the product of some misinformed manufacturer who had minerals in all the wrong places?
I think Occam's Razor leads us to the 'trader who bought cheap drakes on a regional buy order' scenario. |

Perhaps that trader just wanted to express some creativity!?
I am myself not above of some fun with numbers when the opportunity arises. I too like to set my prices ending with just a single number, especially xxx666 but really any fun combination suffices, like xxx1234,56 or xxx5678,9 or in reverse xxx987,65 or xxx765,43.... the possibilites are virtually endless. Who says playing the market must be boring? Forum-unbanned since 2011.10.20.

4 is an unlucky number in some East Asian cultures, with similar pronunciation to 'death'. Maybe the seller wanted to curse the buyers with death (ingame)? |

Now it's used when we find something mildly funny but we don't actually laugh.
