So, I screwed up and made a small pile of ME0/PE0 ship BPCs that instead of having 1 run each have 15 runs each. With the new decryptors and all does it actually make sense to invent with these, or should I just look for a way to use them for straight manufacturing? Trying out all the things to do here in Eve - it's quite a checklist. So I made a blog Jakob's Eve Checklist |

No matter what decryptors you use, you'll get the same number of runs out of a max-run than you would out of a 1-run once invented.
Maybe try to sell them at a premium to people who think a max-run is still needed :-) |

Assuming the BPC is of a ship worth inventing then yes put it on the contract page, inventors do not care about ME/PE. And unless I read the last post incorrectly the number of runs on the T1 BPC DOES effect the final number of runs a decryptor would grant. Anything less than a max run T1 BPC will only yield a single run T2 BPC regardless of decryptor. If you use a single run decryptor then using single run T1 copies is fine. |

That is not true for ships (or rigs). A 1-run T1 BPC when invented with a +2 run decryptor results in a 3-run T2 BPC. At least it has every single time I've invented ships with that exact combo or with the +1 run decryptor (resulting in a 2-run T2 BPC of course)
Prior to Inferno (May last year) there was a bug where inventing with a 1-run ship BPC where the invented T2 BPC came out with less runs than it should have. That bug was fixed in Inferno and is listed in the patch notes for that expansion.

ANYTHING LESS THAN A MAX RUN BPC WILL YIELD ONLY A 1-RUN T2 BPC.
I have not played with the new decryptors, and I really don't care.
Let's just stick to basic facts about this, and yap about new decryptor uses is another thread as a different issue. |

Incorrect. Trivial to prove too.
Invent a ship using a 1-run T1 BPC and the +2 run decryptor (+1 ME, +4PE, +2 runs. Current name [racial] Symmetry, previously named Sacred Manifesto/User Manual/Engagement Plan/Operation Handbook ), you will get out a 3-run T2 BPC

Neither have I, I'm talking about the old, pre-Odyssey decryptors. I can only assume you've never tried using a 1-run T1 BPC with a run increasing decryptor or you'd have seen for yourself that you can and do get multiple runs on the resultant T2 BPC. Or that you're intentionally spreading misinformation. |

No you didn't. Not anywhere in any of your previous statements did you say 'without decyptors' (until this one). All you said was: "I have not played with the new decryptors, and I really don't care." and the piece you initially highlighted said "regardless of decryptors'
And if you're talking without decryptors, max-run ship and rig BPCs produce single run T2 BPCs, just the same as 1-run ones do.
The invention runs formula is given on the wiki ( https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Invention ):
Invention Output Runs = MIN(MAX(ROUND_DOWN( (Input_T1_BPC_Runs / T1_Max_Runs_Per_Blueprint_Copy) * (T2_Max_Runs_Per_Blueprint_Copy / 10) + Decryptor_Runs_Bonus), 1), T2_Max_Runs_Per_Blueprint_Copy)
Where:
- Input_T1_BPC_Runs = The number of runs on the T1 Input BPC
- T1_Max_Runs_Per_Blueprint_Copy = The "Max Run Per Blueprint Copy" attribute of the Input T1 BPC
- T2_Max_Runs_Per_Blueprint_Copy = The "Max Run Per Blueprint Copy" attribute of the T2 blueprint you are trying to Invent
- Decryptor_Runs_Bonus = The "Max Run Modifier" attribute of the decryptor used, 0 if no decryptor is used

This is enlightening. So lets step into the world of crazy and say we invent a Golem from a single run Raven copy while using a +9 augmentation I should get a 10 run from it?

I do not know about item invention, but Ship invention i know pretty vell. Yes, it does NOT matter hoe many runs a BluePrint have for inventing ships. All that matters are the decryptor. Yes you can have a 10run t2 copy, but it will have a crappy -6ME But try out my T2 SHip invention tool, here you can play with the different decryptors, to see which is best and most profitable. Try it out here Want to know what-áis best to-ámine or build at which cost? then try out Dedaf's Industrial Tool: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=8074&find=unread |
