I knew I was going to subscribe immediately after I first undocked, but I waited to get a few more free days before subbing

Tried several times from the all beginning of Eve but just got it "interesting" once "sandbox" started to mean something else than twinks online that was back then, was probably amusing for some dudes but was really ridiculous BS with several prop mods/nanos, leave alone frigates and whatnot.
Only thing I regret from back then its the warp to target if you were at the good distance, can't remember exactly how much but think was about 100km. Everything else was then another game and imho not a really good one, just for a specific mind set player specially if you enjoy twinks and hacks. *removed inappropriate ASCII art signature* - CCP Eterne |

I first saw EVE being played by an old neighbour I had in my previous home. It struck me as deep, compelling and complex while looking good at the same time.
My initial introduction to EVE is now quite a few years back and I always remained curious, but I just knew I'd love it upon login. I kept postponing it, and the wait has been enough now. As such, I did no trial.
I forked over a 3 month sub from the get go.
This was roughly 2 weeks ago. |

2003 got the original box that came with a 1 month sub. Its been a long 10 years. A few forum mates all created a corp and I got sucked in early. Strength isnt measured in numbers but in force of will. For if one motived willful individual stands many will fall around him that are weak.

Don't remember exactly, but it was within 7 days.
EVE seems to be the sort of game that, if you're going to subscribe, you know right away. If you're not sure, you probably won't last long. |

How was your entry to EVE? Did you tried it once? Tried it several times? How long it took before knowing "it was it" and pay for it?
5-day trial got me hooked on day 1. Finally a game that took privateer to the next level .. altho I kinda missed direct ship control for a while. That single fact makes me still play X3 every now and then .. or EVE offline as I use to call it :p |

I saw EVE trailers since Revelation and liked very much, but i joined just after Trinity, and i hooked immidiately. I started my 14days trial on the same day when my brother started his Worls of Warcraft 10days trial in 2008, he left WoW for EVE after 4 or 5 days. :D |

I made my mind up to sub within a few hours of play. I didn't actually sub until a few days later.

Soon after playing the game I ended up signing up for a year, buying a few PLEX for ISK, buying every issue of Eon and ISK the Guide, along with the slipcase artbook, battleship models and pretty much anything else I could get my hands on. All things considered I think I dumped about $600 (I had just received my vacation pay that month) into Eve when I first played the game. |

I subbed for a month, then downloaded the client. CBA with "free", I'd rather pay for a month, hate it, never touch it again. Sadly that was some 6 years ago and I'm still here.... with multiple accounts... I guess I like it ;) |

3rd day or so 'officially'...
About a day into playing the game, I was hitting myself over the head, as I had heard of eve several years before (2005-2006), but at the time I was a big time WoW raider. After getting bored with the eternal grind and jumping through familiar hoops of WoW, I started looking for other games, and remembered Eve. A day in, I felt an idiot for not playing this game sooner, the reason it took more days was because I was being lazy. 3rd day I needed the subscription because the corp that invited me in wanted non-trial members. Else it would probably have taken more time. ;)

I think this game is VERY unique... And, it's one of those games that you WANT to like, but it's so different that it throws people off.
Personally, I had done 8-10 trials of EVE and wanted to like it, but HATED it. LOL It wasn't until I found the right people to play it with that I actually stayed. So, I guess to answer the question the OP posed...... For me I was in and out of it for at least 2 or 3 years. Finally it has stuck.
I will say. Now that I'm in, it's amazing and I'm glad someone made it enjoyable enough to hang around. It's a great game. A true outlaw finds the balance between the passion in his heart, and the reason in his mind...-á The outcome is the balance of might and right. |

The first time i played eve was like a few years ago. But i was following the articles about EvE way before even trying the game. Unfortunately I couldn't understand a single word on english at that time, so i played for about a day or two and didn't kept playing. I decided to give it another try early this year since I have a good enough english in my opinion to properly play the game and interact with other players, so I made another trial account and searched on google for tutorials of how to play the game, at the end of my first week i had already subscribed. |
