There's another thread about this, but from memory goes something like;
High - not profitable at all Low - barely Null - workable Wormhole - above c3
That's going on what I've read and others have said.

damn so c3 isnt that profitable? i dont really like c4 and above since it takes 2 jumps to get to known space

No pls don't believe him! He said the info is from his memory anyway :P
True story is that +1.0 sec status systems generally give worst output of PI materials and -1.0 sec status gives best output. Now these means that Null(-1.0) and all WH space are equal in quality. These statement is only true for extraction amount you can expect. Also if you search around you can find a planet with high amount of a single resource that equals that of Null or WH space.
Now that extraction is explained lets look at Factory Planets( import -> process -> export ). Hisec planets have a TAX of 10% (NPC controled) Lowsec - The owner sets the TAX Nullsec - you need to be in their Alliance or Corp to use PI WH - The owner sets the TAX

Hisec starts at like 1M / day , then it doubles in low, again in null etc. This is extracting, more complex operations pay better. Edit: VERY rough estimate, specifics from above posters. |

if making anything complex, where you need to move stuff from one planet to another, tax rates are likely to be more important than resource draw rates. If you can find a lowsec area where the POCO owners aren't too greedy, charging 5% or so, you can do well. If they want 15% or something don't waste your time. In a wormhole you will normally have to set up your own POCOs, if any or present when you move in you will probably have to destroy them. But you then get to set the tax rates (probably 0 if you solo, maybe a little higher if you are running a corp and want taxes to cover expenses). Wormholes can be great for PI, so long as you don't have several characters drawing the same rare raw material from the same planet, which can deplete it badly. |

I dont understand how is it if a corp sets a tax, they cant put tax on the planets right? but they can blast us if we dont pay tax. we could just use a cloaky ship to get there and go PI and low sec is mostly empty anyway. Justice Is just a matter of perspective |

They put a TAX on the Launchpad --> Customs Office connection. In HiSec its 10% tax for Exporting to space and 5% (1/2) to import to Planet.
In LowSec a Corp can put a 30% TAX if they wish to do so. Or 100% TAX to any enemy(red Player)
TAX is set on 5 levels. -10 standing -5 standing neutral +5 standing +10 standing
An additional option exists for Corp members and one extra for Alliance members.

They can put TAX on low sec? i know they can on WH but is there a way to destroy the custom office and make our own. "Intergalactic Space Federation" Industry And PvE Corp Is looking for active Industrialist! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3565192&#post3565192 |

Is all hi sec equal, or would a 0.5 system be better than a 0.7 system? |

0.5 is better than 0.7 but considering the high population of HiSec some Planets are already depleted to a point of a 1.0 system.
I once forcefully depleted a resource on the whole surface of a Planet to almost Zero in 4 hours by using a trick. It took almost 2 weeks to regenerate some of the resources back. Blog |-áTutorials | Youtube "I donGÇÖt know everything, I just know what I know." |

Yes, that is how corps/alliances control the pocos in low and WH. It's a little more complicated in Null I believe but don't have experience there. |

Highsec is about 500k - 1M isk per day per planet.
Lowsec is about 2M - 2.5M isk per day per planet
Null is about 2.5M - 3M isk per day per planet
wh is about 3M - 5M isk per day per planet
It also depends on the quality of planets, planet types and number of players on the planet. |

this is a pretty good estimate. if you do basic training you can get to 4 planets in no time.
Also, POCOs play the role of tax collector in the PI process. They are setup and destroyed by people in low sec who then choose their own tax rate for the poco usage - beware of this and always check the tax rate before choosing a planet.
Honestly, hi sec is not worth it for basic setups. If you want to make some passive isk setup shop in an 'off the beaten path' low sec system. It doesnt have much risk involved if you are careful. |
