I've been doing missions in low sec and pirate space. I spent 2 weeks grinding missions to be able to do level 3 missions, and the reward? 1,000 LP , 800,000 isk on average for a level 3 mission. at 1,000 isk an LP that's a whopping 1,800,000 for a level 3 mission. Why would people bother leaving high sec to do missions if the reward is negligable?
I'm in an 80 mil t2 fit cruiser and can complete about 3 missions an hour.
I come from the game Ultima Online so I prefer to be in low sec but there is no incentive, anyone explain to me why I shouldnt go back to high sec? |

If all you want to do is run missions in cruisers, you probably should go back to highsec.
On the other hand, you're in 24IC. At some point the LP faucet is going to get adjusted from cold to hot, and you'll be able to rake in mad money running plexes and blitzing Level 4 FW missions in bombers. Rifterlings pirate corporation is now recruiting pilots for lowsec solo & small gang operations. I've done the fw thing, it's so boring :( Even at 50% penalty you can still make 30 mil+ an hour running offensive plexes in an empty enemy sytem. FW is nearly no risk and 5x more profitable than going to low sec or pirate space, I do realize fw is low sec also, but it doesnt feel like it most of the time. |

The profit you can gain down in low-sec is does not come from running missions (except blitzing level 5s).
Hunt for clone soldier tags, sell on market... profit. Hunt other players, destroy or ransom them... profit. Ship and sell stuff to hunters in low-sec... profit. Run FW complexes, gain LP, buy stuff with LP, sell on market... profit.
If you want risk in these things... do them in "hot" areas. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

The Op might not be going about it right. But his conclusion is correct for the most part.
Nul sec missions do pay enough for people who take the risk. Bhaalgorn bpcs from blood raiders, mach bpcs from angels ect ect.
But low sec lvl 4 missions (except faction warfare missions) just aren't worth it. I went to low sec just last week and again realized it's better to do high sec missions is a better fit ship than to do low sec missions in a ship fot to survive. if low sec missions didn't make you jump through gates it might be better, but jumping a BS through a gate blind is dumb in low sec and perfectly safe in high.

The Trammel / Felucca debate again. Depending on when you started UO, you either always had Trammel (super-safe carebear land) and chose to play in Fel (lowsec) because PvP happened there, or you thought the game was ruined by the creation of the carebear paradise. While I agree the criminals were driving away some players, the split of the server killed the game. There was simply no reason to interact when you were always safe. The good-guy guilds went away, the criminal societies went away.... a lot of the fun and player interaction was killed when they made the safe lands. Why stick together when you can't be touched in the bad place?
Watch closely, Eve is going much the same way UO did. High sec space is getting safer, there is no real reason to go to lowsec, and messing with the bears in hisec is taking a turn for the difficult. I'm not sure how many Eve Players played UO before things went full ******, but does anyone remember criminal flags? "Going grey"? Does any of this look familiar?
Quite frankly, there is no honest reason to go to lowsec. I enjoy lowsec because it makes me pay attention to an otherwise boring aspect of the game (grinding standings for locators and clones). That's just preference. I can make the same standings and isk in a safe environment.
Sadly, even the pack of genetic defectives that made changes to UO had the foresight to make mining more lucrative in their lowsec lands (double mining yield), as well as making NPC kills pay more. They rewarded the ones who were willing to risk it.
In Eve, however, things don't always make sense. "Fly adventurous!" --á /Aeana K Best advice on how to have fun in this game I've ever seen. |

They should make it legal to shoot anyone with a negative security status in lowsec if you have a positive security status, no interference from gate guns, no security loss, etc.
Concord should pay out the value of the destroyed ship to the guy with the positive security status. Modified by his security rating. So you need 5.0 to get the full payout. Or make it a CONCORD LP pay out, or a mix of LP and ISK. Whatever.
Then lowsec "missions" would be carebears using PVP ships to try to kill lowsec player pirates. No more of this PvE fits and tasks in a PvP environment nonsense.
I don't know what pirate missions would be. The reverse maybe. Kill positive standings players or players aligned with enemy pirate factions.
Dilute the payouts to a ridiculous degree the more players are in on a kill (including booster alts in fleet) to encourage soloing. |

If you prefer to be in lowsec. Join faction warfare.
You still have to worry about alliance members shooting you, but overall you earn more money in FW than running level 4's in high sec.
If you are using a t2 fit cruiser you would be fine running offensive FW sites for the most LP. You can if you want to be less risk averse run a frigate with 4 warp stabs and run defensive sites.
Also, if you really want to roll in the money run FW level 4 missions using a stealth bomber. If you wanto know how I suppose join a FW corp. "Entitlement" is a euphemism for "I hate the way you play and it makes me cry like a baby". If you fantasize about being immoral it means you enjoy being immoral deep down. |

You might want to (return to hi-sec and) try WH space - C1 and maybe C2 wormholes will be ok for your ship and reward is much better than lvl3 missions. However scanning mini-game is *extremely* boring even by EVE standards.
And yes - low sec isn't rewarding enough unless you know what are you doing exactly. |

Low sec is indeed not worth it when it comes to missions, you have about the same risk as in null sec ( probably even more ). However the rewards are very poor compared to null sec and you would be better off doing level 4 missions in high sec or just go to a null sec sov corp and runs sites there. |
