This question came to mind yesterday and I'm wondering if it's feasible or not. Essentially, Minmatar militia kind of sucks right now for PVP since BIO evicted all our pew pew buddies in Amarr, so we were looking at options to find PVP in the future. An idea that came up for my corp was that we could potentially move to Black Rise, stay in Minmatar militia so we could fund PVP with LP still, and just shoot everyone both Gallente and Caldari. Essentially we'd be like one of the local pirate corps, only still able to collect LP from Caldari plexes.
Is this viable? As I understand it our militia standings won't take any hits, and faction standings against Gallente won't really be affected much by shooting their pilots... is there any reason not to do this? |

I have heard many people voice this logic for moving to the other side and almost without exception they are unhappy with the move. The battlefield is a lot different. The tactics are a lot different. Etc., etc....
Besides, this is all part of Comrade CCP's marvelous and farseeing strategy. You wish for a balancing mechanic? They give you unrelenting boredom. You have months ahead of you of:
Obnoxious farmers. Little to no PvP. PvP being solo or small group in nature. Want fleet action? Tough ****. Friends stop logging in. Friends trickle over to the dark side. Friends going to Null (obviously CCP's masterplan) where they will join Larry, Curly, or Moe. Which makes no difference since they are all related anyways. |

There are some Minnie corps who have done this with varying degrees of success. But you will find it tough to make LP by offensive plexing since Caldari only have 20 systems left.
Most who have tried this method have gotten ROFLstomped by Gallente blob. Word gets out very quickly as to which Minnie corps are shooting Gallente and you will be set red by most of the major organizations.
And Zarnak is correct. The warzone is completely different up here. The kitchen sink mentality that exists in Minnie space doesn't work in Blackrise/Placid. High Five. Yeah! C'est La Eve . |

Oh we'd tell Gallente and ask to be set red. We're a PVP corp, not Awoxers :)
Interesting that people have tried this and been unhappy with it, possibly not a brilliant idea after all :/
Any easy way to get a less than 60 person corp into Caldari or Amarr militia with bad standings to both factions? |

'Cause PVP gets expensive, mostly. That and honestly we really enjoyed FW up until the past few weeks, "winning the war" has been kind of **** though.
Oh well, it's unfortunate the standings mechanic is what it is where instead of gameplay we get artificial and arbitrary ~consequences~ 'cause its not as though when player corps in EVE have mercenaries hired against them they blacklist those mercs and never work with them again... |

Everyone in gal mil will just consider you AWOXing numpties for using the purple mechanic to get kills. Even if you were to notify every Gallente corp, that wouldn't cover ones you do not know about, the FDU, new ones that join, etc. Overall you are looking at acquiring a rather poor reputation.
No real easy way on the standings, easiest way used to be to grind COSMOS missions...not sure anymore.
Wardec the Brave Collective and move to Barleguet for a bit, that's what a few of us cats did when we got bored. No shortage of pvp from those guys. They love to fight.

Well tactics in cal/gal are really other stuff than amarr/minmatar. Although you won-¦t see such big fleets and not so good fleets like once the batttles around Kamela (Pred/Mnemic/Annah). I remember that once upon a time (7/8 months ago) amarr ate every gal fleet that came down to Kurni or Kam easily. No wonder after I saw gal logi fits^^. Even during my Nenn/Enna time the galfleets were not very good and the logi fits **** in comparison to amarr/minnie standard. No clue how it is now in amarr/min but if nothing hasn-¦t changed, standard minnie or amarr fleets should breakfast away a galfleet.
On the other side solo and small gang is,... erm really completely another stuff than min/amarr. You will suffer many losses before you understand how that works in gal/cal. My first few weeks in calmil were horrible.
And yes I have a clue. I was maybe 10 months in amarrmil and 2.5 months in calmil. I know the differences. |

And that summarizes the whole problem with 'winning' in FW right now.
On the other hand members of the 'loser' Amarr militia have more targets than we have seen in months. Now I can undock in my home system and find my choice of fight there in Sis or within one or two jumps within minutes. Sure many of them are farmers with empty ships or lows full of stabs, but many are good pilots including some from the other side of the wz who are just out for gf's.
That is why I hope the present situation doesn't change too soon. The Minnie pvp'ers can come to the Sis area to find some action with the remnants of the organized Amarr militia both solo and in small gangs while the farmers can have the bulk of the remaining wz to run their missions, deplex, and make all their isk in relative peace. There may be some other pockets of Amarr resistance as well. The only thing we ask is just don't all come at once. |

Since the Gals actually fight, I think a lot of the remaining Amarr are just waiting for Bio to make the final push so they finally have an excuse to try other areas of the game or go enjoy all of the pew they've been hearing about in the Caldari warzone. Supposedly even FHP is actually having fun in EVE again since going on break after taking Arzad err...I mean getting demoralized by the Biohazard powerhouse.
A lot of us that didn't move on after Arzad are actually pretty puzzled and frustrated the remaining systems haven't been flipped yet, since the 'active resistance' that still plexes is literally a handful of people.
I think in the future we'll see a lot more groups run off the Heretic model of enjoying that sweet sweet Tier 5 and just wardeccing the main groups in militia. I think that when the Minmatar take all the systems, even if BIO goes into chill mode, the Minny FW mission train has enough momentum that even if BIO left, people would still keep the Tier high. At least I hope they do, since I haven't had a chance to run any FW missions this time around.

Surely none of those groups can compare to the steamroller that is the Minmatar militia right now? Or could it be they're simply too afraid to face the wrath of Biohazard. I checked their killboards the other day and its no wonder they're doing what Iron Oxide never was able to.

BIO hasn't flipped the remaining systems because their plan is to maintain T4/T5 indefinitely to fund super caps for leadership. One of their directors left the corp over them increasing their tax rate to 100% and being told not to ask questions as to where the money is going, so it looks like BIO leadership never planned on winning the war in the first place and they just saw an opportunity to farm a ton of LP off a disorganized Amarr.
Such is the word on the street and from a disgruntled ex director in militia chat anyway. |

Come back to Black Rise and Placid? Even if Gallente can hit a higher tier, we cannot do missions in a SB. Instead you will chase MWD+Cloak Ishtars or T3's. QCATS is recruiting: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=146180 |

I feel your pain, friend. I remember making millions of Minmatar LP over a week, only losing one Purifier. Then I tried running Amarr missions with a Hound and lost 5 of them within 3 days.

this won't solve anything. Look, minmatar is in full farming mode. All you see are pve ships. It doesn't matter which side you join as long you stay in the amarr-minmatar WZ you have the same effect.
After a few days of exclusively killing SBs i decided to give eve a break and wait till people use pvp ships again. Will take at least one or two weeks and everything is fine again.
The market is broken already, some farmers have >100mil LP per char so i don't think they will continue like this for very long. eve style bounties (done) dust boarding parties imagine there is war and everybody cloaks - join FW |

I meant more under the context of the amount of effort it takes to keep a Tier at 5 and farmable once you get there.
Though, some food for thought, is the real reason it wouldn't make a bit of difference because outside of Team Damar/FHP, its literally impossible to roflstomp Caldari anymore in your TZ because you've always dunked them that hard. (I don't actually care or want to talk about game mechanics. This is just a joke about how legitimately the majority of Caldari has been since Inferno. Though maybe its that time certain posters with names starting at the beginning of the alphabet start ranting about game mechanics and the thread gets locked. I mean, it's almost to page 3, amirite? :P)

This reads to me a lot like a ego rant/stroke/pet/fondle from the Minnies. People saying all amarr have left and you have no pvpers left to fight is a bit of a joke honestly. Sure we don't have the numbers we once had but that is inevitable considering the isk farm is weak for amarr. But those of us that remain, at least some of us, still go out and give fights. Ask biohazard about me putting an amarr fleet on sahtogas station few days ago and giving them what felt like an epic fight. |

Hi
Let me let you in on the truth. We are super bored! I would love nothing better for the amarr to get their act together and get something going. The lp is great dont get me wrong but it isnt a long term thing. The reason the other systems haven't been taken yet and the reason for our horrible killboard this month is just due to "BEAR MODE" that we are currently just coming out of.
I led bio through the last 2 months on a goal to get some fights and ended up turning into us taking all but 6 of the systems. PVP has dried up and now we realize why iron oxide are so bitter with us now that all the targets are gone. woops mah bad. In terms of the 100% it has been put to good use supplying the corp with a t2 SRP. |
