I decided to upgrade my trial a week or two ago and I ended up getting the starter pack from ccp. The starter pack came with an implant that gave all of my attributes +1. I noticed that the implant is only good for thirty days, so my question is can I buy this style of implant off of the market? I browsed around a little and all I could seem to find were the implants that are specific to a certain attribute. Now that I think about it, I skipped over the slot 2 section seeing how I already had the one from the starter pack in place. I also noticed that amazon offered a similar deal but theirs came with a prototype implant. Can I get those off of the market as well? |

Those types of implants can only be found on contracts. There are several different types offering a variety of bonuses. The one thing they have in common, as you discovered, is that they are limited by character age. |

The starter implants are just that - to get you started. You will want to move on to attribute-specific implants. As Danna said, the implant you are using just now is limited by character age, so you will need to move up to the standard implants soon anyway.
"Attribute Enhancers" are a type of implant which give you bonuses to specific attributes. Although there are more advanced implants, the basic ones are:
Ocular Filter (slot 1). These enhance your perception attribute. Memory Augmentation (slot 2). These enhance your memory attribute. Neural Boost (slot 3). These enhance your willpower attribute. Limited Cybernetic Subprocessor (slot 4). These enhance your intelligence attribute. Social Adaptation (slot 5). These enhance your charisma attribute.
There are different levels of each implant. So for example, "Ocular Filter - Basic" enhances your perception attribute by +3. "Ocular Filter - Standard" enhances your perception attribute by +4.
Here is a quick list:
Limited [IMPLANT NAME] = +1 to the attribute. Limited [IMPLANT NAME] - Beta = +2 to the attribute. [IMPLANT NAME] - Basic = +3 to the attribute. [IMPLANT NAME] - Standard = +4 to the attribute. [IMPLANT NAME] - Improved = +5 to the attribute.
So, Memory Augmentation - Basic will give you +3 to your memory attribute.
Remember to check the skill requirements for each implant. The +1, +2 and +3 implants are fairly cheap. Last time I bought them, +4s were around 20-30m ISK and +5s are around 120m ISK.
Remember, implants are lost when you are podded! I have a specific comb for my beard. |

I'm rewarded an implant every 16 missions. Do these implants get better with the higher level missions or is it all random? |

You are not rewarded with an implant every 16 missions. You MIGHT get an implant every 16 missions but not likely.
The implant you get when you upgrade (I forget it's name) accelerates training and is only good for the first 35 days ON THE ACCOUNT. After that you have to earn new implants with LP or buy 'em. |

You'll need to train the Cybernetics skill, under Neural Enhancement, for normal implants
You'll need to train it to different levels for the improved implants
+1, +2 & +3 --> Level 1 trained +4 --> Level 4 trained +5 --> Level 5 trained
+3's will cost around 9-12m each +4's will cost around 20m each +5's typically go for 95-115m each, just a little fyi there
from a cost perspective +3's or +4's are generally the goto Implants, depending on how much time you want to spend training the skill |

To get correct implants regulary (as you may be podded and lose them, or as you can sell them for good money), simply run missions for the same NPC Faction (for example the Gallente Federation Navy if you live in Gallente space). For each mission you will win some money and some Loyalty Points (LP). With these LPs, you can visit in the Gallente Federation stations (for example) the LP store where you can spend your LPs in buying different faction stuff you can't get normally, like faction implants, faction ammos, faction ships, etc... https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mission https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/LP Just as for everything else in EVE, don't wear implants you can't afford to lose |
