suggestion: allow the clearing of tags in overview keywords: tags, overview, fleet note: n/a
tags in the overview may not be a great way to broadcast targets on your overview, but they are a great way to sort EWAR targets or "slower to die" targets in great order, so people in fleet can see and sort the targets in the overview.
the biggest problem with the tags as they currently stand is that beyond the target warping away or exploding in glorious blue fire, there is no practical way of removing the tag beyond ignoring that tag.
what i propose is to introduce a shortcut to remove a tag, much like there exists a shortcut to unlock a target.
beyond that is that the shortcuts on the tags are clonky and ore often than not results in a target getting "double tagged", as in their tag number "skipped" a letter, resulting in a confusing list of targets that most often than not are not in the intended order.

Suggestion: Use milliradians/sec (mrad/s) instead of radians/sec (rad/s) to show angular velocity and tracking. Keywords: ui, overview, tracking, angular velocity, radian, rad/s, mrad, milliradian Note: Most values in EVE measured in radians/sec are too small for that unit of measurement.
Since most values in EVE that are measured in radians/sec are much less than one radian/sec, it becomes difficult to compare to such values. Using a unit that is a thousandfold smaller would make things much easier. For example, the visual difference between 0.0883 rad/sec and 0.0088 rad/sec is much less noticeable compared to 88.3 mrad/sec and 8.8 mrad/sec even though they are a comparison between the same values. To keep things consistent, all values displayed in rad/s would have to be multiplied by 1000 including the overview, show info windows, and tooltips. |

- Keywords: Shortcuts, Web browser, UI

---
I use the in game browser constantly for things like Dotlan maps, Siggy, wormhol.es and I usually have multiple tabs set up just the way I like when I play. So it really pisses me off when in the spur of the moment I click on the close button instead of the minimize one and loose all my tabs and intel. I'd really like to be able to minimize it (not close, minimize) with the same shortcut that I used to open it. It's already the case with a lot of other windows and shortcuts ('atl+w', 'alt+a', 'alt+r', 'alt+i' etc...) so I don't understand why it can't be the same with the browser. |

suggestion: add vertical tactical overlay view that crosses the current and rotates with camera keywords: ui, pvp, fleet, solo note: this is what the tactical overlay was meant to do
i use the tactical overlay all the time, and it is terrible at anything that is very far off the horizontal plane you are on. if it had another plane on the vertical that rotated with the camera, as in always facing you, it would suddenly be usable at any angle. |

Suggestion: allow module activation to break gate cloak Keywords: ui, navigation Notes: currently only movement commands break cloak
This would also allow blockade runners and other cloaking ships to go from game-enforced gate cloak to ship-cloak, without need for rng+lag games. As a "side" effect this would allow them to finally function properly as designed (vs. over-sebo-ed gate camps).

Suggestion: add an option to have the quickbar and browse left-panel tabs to highlight items that your character has existing orders for Keywords: UI, market, highlight, orders Notes: currently you can only filter browse for available items, by skills, etc., quickbar not at all. The 2 My Orders tabs are slower to use and don't allow grouping of items.
- - - - -
Different colours could be used if you have a buy order/sell order/both. A further option would be to filter down to only those items that you have orders for, not just highlights.
This would be useful for station traders as well as anyone else with large numbers of orders. Especially for items with a lot of orders where you need to scroll to see if you have an order that's just "fallen off the front page" or for players with varying stock, as clicking through and checking market orders directly from the market window (details-market data view on the right, not my orders and doubleclicking, then clicking back to My orders...) is generally faster than double-clicking in wallet-orders. Also, neither window that displays your orders directly allows for grouping, unlike the quickbar (player-customized grouping) and the browse view (static grouping by market group). |

Ctrl + W closes a lot of types of windows. It's a pretty good feature. One thing it does, though, is it closes some types of chat channels amd it closes them even if they're stacked with channels like the corp channel or local channel (channels that Ctrl + W won't close). What happens then is that the tabs for some types of chat channels are closed, but others aren't affected by it.
Sometimes, when there are a lot of windows open, it's nice to just hammer Ctrl + W until they're all gone. If you're not careful, though, you'll also close most of your chats. That just doesn't seem optimal.
It would be nice if Ctrl + W wouldn't close chat channels at all. Or, atlernatively, maybe it could be set to ignore player channels that are stacked with system channels? I'm not sure how it affects conversation windows, since I make sure to never hit ctrl + w when one of those is open. Ever. The best thing, though, imo, would be if Ctrl + W had no affect on chat windows at all. It's not like we open dozens of those at a time or anything, anyway, so it's typically not that laborious a process to maunally close the ones you don't want.

There is also something odd that goes on with the focus when using Ctrl + W to close windows. Sometimes you have to click on the next window you want to close before Ctrl + W will work, other times you can just spam Ctrl + W and it closes one thing after the next, continuously.

How about an option for players to set their corp titles to public or private (as far as display in the character's show info window goes) similar to the decorations settings?
Even better, there could be three states. 1) Public 2) Visible to corp/alliance members only or 3) Private.
It might be interesting to have those three settings for decorations, too, but for titles it would really be nice.

Suggestion: Remove the "ISK" word from the numerical columns in the wallet. Keywords: UI, Quality of Life, Wallet, Journal Note: The word "ISK" is in four columns in the wallet that are numerical data: Price, Amount, Credit, and Balance. This makes it so that the columns, when copied from the journal into a spreadsheet, require a bit of extra work to be made into numerical data. Removing "ISK" from these columns would allow the data to be pasted into spreadsheets without further steps to make it numerical. Screenshots: Journal - http://puu.sh/fS0OL/0f807cd9b9.png. Suggestion: Allow for export of fleet info Keywords: Fleet, FC, PAP, Export Note: Exporting fleet info to the log file could allow for a quick, easy way to track the who's and what's of a fleet. ---
Make it so the FC can click a button and export the fleet info from the fleet window. Info would be Name, Ship Type, Location, Corp, and Alliance. They just click export, and it puts the info in the Logs file. From there, they can put it on whatever database they want. |

Suggestion: Module Activation Re-Click Delay
Keyword: UI, Modules, Player/Game Interaction
Note: Allow players to set a custom timer on modules that causes the game to ignore any subsequent clicks after the initial activation, until the delay expires.
---
Why? Mainly aimed at cloaks, you need to be very careful not to double-click and turn the cloak back off instantly after turning it on, and is in general just an inconvenience to anyone moving between jump-cloak and active-cloak.
Also apples to anyone with a twitch that can again cause them to double-click and deactivate a module after one cycle unintentionally (eg Points & Tanks)
Pro? Makes life a little easier for anyone using a cloak Less punishing for simple mistakes Avoid unintentional deactivation of a module Set timer to 0 to keep current functionality Cons? Could be seen as a buff to current cloaking mechanics (ohnos) [*] More open to click-spamming (is it a con?)

- Suggestion: gate cloak break indicator
- Keywords: ui, navigation
- Notes: n/a
Currently there is no such indicator - for ship coming through the gate the only semblance of such a thing is warp command and resulting capacitor drop (and eventually subsequent warp notice - though capacitor is better). Calling warp can be pretty terrible idea depending on the situation (if sensible at all - e.g. non covert-ops ships) and remaining "break cloak" options are limited to regular movement (usually direct double click or align) - leaving the pilot with pure rng "call cloak N ms after align, then eventually repeat it M ms again if it was too early".
A high-priority simple indicator (message, some graphic effect, etc.) corresponding to "gate cloak broken, modules can be activated, ship is visible in space/overview" would be really welcome. And turn camper vs campee into lag+reaction vs. lag+reaction instead of lag+reaction+rng vs. lag+reaction. |
