From WIKIPEDIA
Quote: Kali is the codename for the the fifth content patch. With it coming new Factional Warfare and Combat Organization like introducing Medals and Certifications which are to be awarded by Eve to Corps and Alliances.

yes, exactly. Eve is a multi-player game . . . . meaning more then 1 person. how many times does this have to be re-iterated?

Medals can also be granted to individuals (taken from from E-on issue 2), if your willing to do the missions for them. And EVE is what you make of it... you can play solo if you like, it just tends to be a little harder to get things done.

After all my years of forum whoring, I've noticed that any thread with "please read!!" or "must read!!" in the title has been utter crap.

Common misconception, while ill agree with every word of it, getting things done is rather easy with an average 20k other players around you to help.
While my exile into a solo mans corp wasn't through choice, iv'e made the most of it from the people around me..
Thankgod for the multiplayer game ______

I completely fail to see the point of paying a monthly fee for a singleplayer game. And no, chatting with the newbies in the starter corp does not qualify as multiplay.
In case you havn't noticed: Eve was created with player organization in mind, not solo PVE. Obviously, CCP always had dreams about gigantic alliance wars and settlements in unclaimed space, and they are seriously putting that into action now, and many of the alliances are catching the drift. What could they possibly add to the game to give lone wolfs a better gaming experience? Teleporters? ISK generator buttons? Faster training times? Jove technology? Eve will never be a good singleplayer game, sorry. CCP is adding the things they wanted in all along, it is your choice if you want to be a part of it or not.

I solo pvp becuse it's just more fun.
* Fleet Battles Suck, hard.
* Gangs over 10 Suck, hard.
Solo or a group of 1-3 people gives me the most fun. -

Did you not read my post?
There are an average of about 20k people around me.
It's a multiplayer world, i play my part in it, achieving my goals as a part of interacting with that world is what it's all about.
One man corp, or if i sat within a 100 man corp, it makes no difference, i take my part in the world.
People bump and shove around me as i bumb and shove around them ______

People playing EVE by themselves are not playing a singleplayer game, so your commentary is meaningless.
I completely fail to see the point of trying to tell other people how they should play, but that doesn't stop folks like you from trying for the last 15+ years.

I sometimes marvel at the ability of some people to take a short blurb from a third party web-based dictionary and form a solid conclusion that their way of life is doomed - and they naturally need to post about it.
Here, I'll try it. From the PR blurb on Kali:
Quote:
We are closer to the position of adding new environments with new gameplay that have tactical characteristics.
Oh man, they're adding atmospheric flight. I've just spent months training up Spaceship Command - but now, obviously, we need to train for atmospheric ships.
See?

heh you may want to give that a second thought...as of sometime last night you can no longer anonymously change a wiki entry, you have to leave your email address.
You're playing an MMO slick.
edit: Also, you lose points for quoting wikipedia. But on the other hand, you've reminded me I haven't altered entires for awhile.
It's so fun to lead sheep astray.

OK oldish post but I spotted it the other day. But since I was locked out of my account, I was unable to reply. Your post is based upon one statement. I see your point and that statement is off putting but here is an extract from EON. I hate typing so you better be nice.
'CCP is aware of EVE's limitations with regard to players who prefer to play solo; in part, FW aims to provide a more inclusive experience for those who might otherwise have to rely on cookie-cutter agent missions in order to kill a few spare minutes online.'
"I think solo players will have the most to gain from Factional Warfare," says Noah. "These guys depend are the ones who might not ahve that much time to focus on all the interaction needed to be part of a corp. Missions can be fun, but I think fighting for a common goal in a larger group against evenly matched enemies will be a lot more interesting. People are attracted to MMOGs because of other humans they know will be out there, even they don't want to interact with them as corp-buddies. Instead of talking to their agent and getting yet another damsel in distress mission, a solo player will be able to engage is some interesting, unpredictable combat with other humans, where they might need to think, or where the unexpected could happen. I don't think many solo players sit at work or school pondering how they are going to beat their next rinse/repeat agent mission. But I can really see people pondering Factional Warfare strategy.'
OK so that means to me that there are lot of options as a solo player, although I may have to team up to achieve something. But it can be on my terms which most 'team' play isn't, its one bloke with the biggest mouth calling the shots. The above bridges the two arguements presented here. This is no middle ground here, the views are polarised probably due to the style of posts.

It is possible to play EVE as a single player game. In fact, I pretend its single player all the time. I close all the chat windows and I run agent missions in Empire space. I don't buy anything off the market unless there are 7 or 8 stations that have the smae quantity availible for the same price. I never sell anything on the market because I am not sure if other players are buying it or if it is an NPC corp. The only bad thing about playing as a single player game is that I feel like a ******* when I have to pay the monthly fee. |

Yeh I know but its a new character and therefore maybe a new player. Trying to make a point the old way. Remember the good old days on the forum?
Others passing through that don't have EON may find it encouraging. May sell a few copies as well.

I went to Wikipedia and searched for Kali. That didn't show up.
Furthermore, if it is in fact on there, am I the only one who finds it really strange that Wikipedia would have info about EVE expansions??? -------------------------------------[04:04:04] Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk
