Tribal Band Alliance Update 08 September, 2013
On 08 September 2013 Tribal Band held an alliance update meeting. In this update Tribal Band's new Leader, Lezari, set about clearing up the confusion of recent weeks and had much to say about the future of Tribal Band. Below is a summary of what was discussed, though not necessarily in order. A recording of the meeting was not available.
Lezari began by apologizing for recent poor communications. He cited specific examples such as his new name threads and lack of relevant and needed details. To this he later expounded upon the leadership situation with the help of Blackorin, a close real-life friend of Triget.
Paraphrasing: Citing burnout, Triget has agreed to step down from the leadership role within Tribal Band. His last act was to appoint Lezari as acting Chief Executive Officer of the alliance. At the moment he is enjoying another game and wishes to take a break from Eve. If he should return, he might be interested in an officer's role within his corp, Deadman W0nderland. There has been no coup. Triget voluntarily stepped down.
More to the point, however, it should be noted that Triget still retains the actual CEO position within the alliance holding corp via an alt character, as well as the sum-total of the funds from the sale of Paragon Soul and Period Basis.
Some discussion was had regarding these funds, Tribe's current financial situation, and the need for some sort of cash release to pay for expected upcoming expenses such as new infrastructure, pvp ship subsidies, and a large back-log of SRP requests from the battle in YHN, estimated to be as much as 20 billion isk.
Lezari's next order of business was to outline his vision for a new command structure within Tribal Band. He indicated that this structure would be a council of leaders assigned to specific functions, such as subcap and capital FCs, logistics, internal communications, external communications (diplo/recruiting), a Tribe academy corp, a financial director, intelligence director, and an IT director.
For those who may not be aware, Tribal Band's IT support has been shaky at best for months now due to the expiration of jabber services, and all related IT directors having either quit eve or moved out of alliance. To his credit, Aura Ikku has continued to assist Tribal Band in it's IT support until such time as we can get our new server up and running, and all IT services moved to it.
This past summer a donation drive was taken up to the tune of a $1500 USD goal for a dedicated server to furnish all of Tribe's needs for the forseeable future. Due to unexpected financial and legal issues surrounding the not-for-profit status of the drive, movement of these funds took much longer than expected. However, the server has been purchased. We are currently waiting for a decision to be made on which operating system to install.
In the second half of the meeting Lezari described his goals for Tribe for the near, mid, and long term, as well as a very brief and succinct review of the Curse move as a complete and total failure. Very few corporations chose to deploy to Curse, opting instead to simply leave Tribe for other alliances.
Since Tribe is incapable of functioning independently in Curse, we will be moving again, this time to the nearby lo-sec region of Derelik.
In the mid-term, Lezari has directed that Tribal Band should focus on developing it's pvp assets and securing a sufficient income stream to pay for cheap T1 ship subsidies.
For the long-term, it is Lezari's goal to rebuild tribe into a sov-holding alliance with all the trimmings, such as rental space, SRP, and a supercap fleet.
Lately there has been much to-do about the alliance disbanding and reforming under a new name. After some poking and prodding, it was revealed that in recent months Triget had expressed distaste for the alliance name, Tribal Band, calling it "gay".
This "new" alliance idea has been met with everything from acceptance at having a fresh start, to outright fury at abandoning what the more opinionated forum posters (this writer included) perceive as a large bankroll of good-will, grudging respect, and alliance history. The two camps seem generally divided between newer players, and those that were involved in the merger of TASHA and The 99 Percent into Tribal Band more than a year ago.
Now with Tribal Band's future so open, the decision has been made to start a new alliance with a name that we can all agree on. Tentatively, the first name thrown around by upper leadership was simply "Tribe"; reflecting more to the moniker that many players use when referring to Tribal Band. However, the final decision has yet to be made.
As far as standings with other alliances go, there would be a general reset of all entities with the possible exception of TEST.
For the time being, Tribal Band/Tribe/whatever will move again and focus on rebuilding in a less hostile environment (we hope). At it's core, there is still a small group of players that refuse to abandon their bros or the legacy that is Tribal Band. No matter what the name, the true members of Tribal Band will remain. To conclude, I will leave everyone with a couple motivational youtube links:

Thanks for the update and sorry to see such a class act fall on such hard times. I had a blast flying with you guys when I was in TEST.
Have you considered couch-sitting? There's a number of people in nullsec who have been impressed with Tribe and who might do you a favour while you get back on your feet. As Test, we found it hard to secure income in the Testagon partly because we all knew we'd be moving so grinding things like moons and pocos would be only temporary before we moved and the locals took them back. I'm not convinced non-FW low sec works for a null sec alliance for line member income.
As for SEDNA we're renting at the moment. Not the most glamorous way to play Eve but people are surprisingly upbeat about it and we've managed to find some pvp. I FCed a four hour fleet this morning and we've declared Tuesday low sec day where we all go off to low sec in frigates and hunt FWers. And it at least lets us run anoms as much as we want.
Anyway best wishes and hopefully the tides of nullsec politics will wash us up on the same shore again one day. CAOD: The premier source for news, commentary and discussion of EVE Online and other games of interest. |

PS any of you fat cat null sec kings with more space than you can possibly rent might want to consider making TRIBE an offer. They're good people to have by your side. CAOD: The premier source for news, commentary and discussion of EVE Online and other games of interest. |

Problem with Tribe leadership ( i think), they don't want to talk to other SOV holding alliance except for the almighty 'TEST'. If they could just get rid of TEST for time being forget that they exist they could probably pull themselves together and stand with their own feet. Somewhere out there have a good heart to let them in their system.
Its time for them to move on and move out of TEST shadow. As long as they are blue to test the mockery will continue.
EVE systems are so vast, you just need a good 'Diplos'.
It was a good ride with them though.
Peace and pew pew more! All hail!

I can't speak for others in this case. But after 4.5 years and 13 nulsec alliances, I have decided I would rather continue playing the game with people I know than just amble on to the next **** tier alliance and farm anoms with bads.

I wasn't even being sarcastic. Though the thought had occurred to me. But hey. You're in ASH now. Enjoy your peace and stability. At least for another year until someone kicks you out of your space again.
