So i was doing movies before with fraps capturing at half size.. didnt look to good.
i saw some footage posted here where you could actually see what is written in the chat and ultra crisp picture.. thought damn i want that, why waste time on an end- movie making it when it comes out looking crap..
so i went and bought a new computer. first step setting up fraps so the raw footage would atleast look nice.. managed to get it looking good at 1024*768 full size capture and a decent 30-40fps..
now next step been messing around with premiere... dooh i tested a few things and damn it looks ugly again..
could someone step by step explain to me or write a small tutarial on how i damn setup that program to make crisp footage and filesize ranging around 100-200m depending on how long the film is

I had the same sort of problem. To lower filesize but keep decent quality use the media encoder and encode using one of the WMV9 settings

Edited by: MolRob on 10/01/2006 19:55:03 i dont really understand you problem, but i assume you watching your uncompressed avi file in fullscreen and it looks ugly.
it is because if you use some default projekt setting like DV-Pal your projekt will have a Frame size of 720h 576v, it doesnt matter how big your source is, it wont look good, you have to scale each scene (so you see the whole picture) and encodee the video in interlaced mode, it will look much better.

I do my FRAPSing at 1152x864 or whatever it is, but when I compress it with Premiere, it comes out blocky and sh1t looking. I was advised to export it as an uncompressed stream, then use virtualdub to compress it. Which works fine for me.

Edited by: Lizaa on 11/01/2006 21:30:01 Alright. There are 2 Huge things to make absolutely sure of when coding a video in Adobe Premiere Pro. I fraps at 25 fps, and my videos are top notch for quality.
1. Make sure that your project rendering size and the source footage are the same. So if u fraps at 1152x864 be sure the rendering area is the same. 2. Pixel size MUST be square pixels. sorry but i cant remember where this option is. But as a default the option i sset to .9 pixels. this is where the fuzzy or blurry images come from.
there ive said my bit. i know im right, and guess what? your file sizes are gonna b huge. but damn if they dont look good.
cheers.
BTW
resizing the image when editing will again make the picture fuzzy. If u want proof on the crispness of my vidoes click here or here plz enjoy.
cheers.
