Hello fellow Bob worshipers,
Down The Pipe just got to episode 20 and we wanted to celebrate it with a contest and some prizes. Well before I tell you the rules I think it is only fair to tell you what you could win
First Place: PLEX Second Place: Faction Cruiser of choice Third Place: Full fit Bait Gnosis
Rules: Tell us the best wormhole related story you have. It can be a small engagement or a large fight (I don't want to see repeating stories though so if I do those probably wont be picked) and before the next podcast we will choose three winners and read those stories.
1. One story per person 2. You must provide a killmail link (something should have died in your stories) 3. I don't need an AAR, make it fun.
SUSU may participate only if they provide a story that pre-dates their career with SUSU.
Co-Hosts cant participate...obviously. Host of podcast Down The Pipe www.downthepipe-wh.com Podcast Public Channel is DTP Podcast @drverikan on twitter [email protected] |

So SUSU is allowed to post stories....
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10686804
Now you see a BR and think wow some germans killed a carrier in a Wormhole good Job...but look closely do you see our Thanny? In a c3? Wait we had a Thanny in a C3?
But there is Story behind it.
So I was living in a C6 > C3 with my german Alliance called Legion of Damnation, which got later renamed to Space Wombats on Acid and then failscaded. But while surf was up, we were dicking around in our connections and feared the incoming c6 holes.
One day my friend Brissante jumped into our Static where he got greeted by the locals:
LOCAL: DON'T TAKE OUR SITES OR WE ARE GOING TO USE OUR CARRIERS TO KILL YOU! Brissante: How about you say hello first? Local: **** OFF!
At that time Bob was an infant but his wisdom was already burned upon our skin. This comment only had one adequat answer....
SCORCHED EARTH of J134136 a C3 Static High. We deployed our fearsome Battleship Fleet and got our Feindflug Friends in (German Low Sec Corp).
So okay Siege .. never done one ... its 2011 ... not really much known about it... so we started with the classic "R-Cage" and got a convo that that would be against the EULA and the Locals would make sure that we will get banned for it. So we had 2 Towers to reinforce, one tower belonging to the "big" corp of the wormhole and one tower belonging to some small group. We started hitting the big guys first and pretty easily put it into reinforce. After that we regrouped and said we will take care of the next tower on Saturday since we will be here till Sunday. While the night shifted from Friday to Saturday .. we were veeery low on numbers and easily bored since we were protecting the bubbles at the "Maintower". So I started talking to that one dude in the forcefield that was actually online.
He just joined the corp had no clue what was going on but didnt like the CEO who behaved like a highschool brat. So we started talking more and i put an offer on the table that he could evac his assets safely if he would bump out that carrier that was hovering in his Forcefield.
Dude: I dont have a bumping ship. Bert (TS): Bris i need a Cruiser with a 100mn STAT! Bris (TS): We are still connected to home... 1 sec...
We handed the cruiser over to the dude and 2 hours later he finally managed to bump out the Thanatos. (CEO logged in from time to time and he was very careful.) Once i snagged and bagged the carrier i was so happy i fell in a coma at 8 o clock in the morning.. not realizing that i havent told anyone about the deal besides .. yo i got us a carrier for the next tower...When i woke up again, i of course made me a coffee and then checked my mails....
"killed a TENGU" ... link was really on top and i saw that they killed my "asset" and podded him out... so i guess that has been taken care off ... a little later the CEO raged at me for stealing his carrier and i would get seriously banned for all this .. OKAY... so its saturday ... lets get back to things and start taking care of business there is another tower to be rfed.
We RFed it put it into a R-CAGE and got into "waiting" mode... when suddenly ... "there IS MOVEMENT on the Chimera" he is burning out of his FORCEFIELD. We warped in everything we got... massive bumps ... paniced comms... and suddenly ... 1 dead carrier ... Well our first siege had now 2 Caps down.. (1 stolen 1 blasted)
With the 2nd Nightshift approaching and the bones still hurting from the first ... I decided to talk to that Chimera Pilot...
Legion was tired... Feindflug nagged that they wanna go back home ... so lets see what comes from this.
It was one of the rather more difficult convos: Cold Justice: So why are you here? Bert: Well those guys over at the other tower threaten us with capitals and now we killed them Cold Justice: *disconnected*
**** did he rage?
Cold Justice: *online* Sorry lost the connection. So did you kill there tower? Bert: Almost its coming out of RF in 10 hours. Cold Justice: Okay. How did you get your Thanny in? Bert: We stole it from the other tower. Cold Justice: Disconnects
DAMN IT he must be really pissed......
Cold Justice: *online* Sorry i keep loosing the Internet connection. I m on a military base in the Pacific and they are currently testing Railguns. Bert: (in my brain: can he hit my house in germany) Well i can make you an offer? (bert brain: if you dont nuke my house) Cold Justice: Okay. Bert: You give me that orca and 2 Tech3s and we will leave your tower alone. (Bert Brain: **** my house) Cold Justice: *disconnected*
Okay this time he raged for sure.....
Cold Justice reconnects: Okay.
oOOOOOKAY this went better than expected.... Corp 1 was biggering amongst themself ... and failscading .. corp 2 just gave us 1 orca 2 tengus and an onyx (stored in the orca).... stole 1 carrier ... killed another ...
GERMANS we are done here... and so we left...
Berties first Siege My mind does not reflect my corp ... it just shows you what they care about...

I would like to submit my latest findings on the behavior of a subset of wormhole residents. I refer to this finding as Malception's Law.
It all began last month while we were out scouting as all good wormholers do. One of our guys had seen some carebears being harassed by SYJ, but soon enough ol' Shirley got tired of hunting these scrubs who would POS up at the slightest provocation and went elsewhere.
Naturally, being the apex predators we are, CLDMN waited in the shadows and allowed the locals to resume their activities with a warm fuzzy in their hearts. A couple of Navy Ravens and a Drake went out to a null-sec system and did some ratting. We welcomed them home upon their return... as all good wormholers do.
Later in the same month we were again faced with the dilemma of allowing fine ships like Navy Issue Ravens to be put to good use in peaceful farming operations or liberate them from the surly bonds of spineless carebears. When they warped both ships to a wormhole in order to begin rolling it we knew we had but one choice.
These stories by themselves do not warrant consideration since they're nothing more than shiny kills, but when taken as the documented research which validates the hypothesis leading to Malception's Law I think |

We even see you there, Bronya.. taking some damage and I believe jumping out to save your legion @ 4:00. Always fun to be part of the story, right?
Regardless...,even if you can't stand some of the parties involved, it did generate "a ton of content" as Chitsa would put it. |

ok. this will be story with kill but not usual "we came and killed everything" or "they came and killed everything". this is story about new player (something about 1st month in game) and his experience.
it was december of 2009 or beginning of 2010. I've just finished tutorial missions and have learned about scanning. It was really new and exciting. One day i found WORMHOLE! I haven't had any ideas what it could be. Bookmarked high-sec entry point, switched to some frigate (to not risk my shiny t1 fitted Vexor) and entered. THAT WAS TOO COOL TO BE TRUE! Wormhole was so beautiful, so unknown that i was stoned for a moment. Ok, i'm not dead from start so i can bring my Vexor and scan a little.
OOps, but i have no exit bookmark! Hm.... What to do? Asked in rookie help channel: selfdestruct is the only option. OK but i don't want to lose ship! Ejected, bookmarked place and self-destructed. Home, sweet home!
Board my shiny Vexor, enter WH again. Warp to my frigate: he is there!!! Cool.
Time to look for something cool. And then i started to scan. Found radar anomaly! THIS IS WHERE I WILL FIND SPACE RICHES! However this is wormhole, anything can happen. Warp to -100km for start: let's look from distance. Oh look, strange pirates! Something about sleepers who was woke up. And they already attack me! Targeted from 100km and already hurt my ship!!! GET OUT!!!
Ok, returned to my place. Let's scan again.
OOps, some ships appeared on my overview!!! They shoot me!!! Few seconds after i'm in my cloning facility again. After all it was great experience. 4 years after i still remember it. Cool days...
PS: Eve-kill has no my losses from that time. I don't know why. But it was empty pod (maximum 1-2 +1 implants) + T1 fitted vexor + t1 frigate i don't remember name. |

Wrote this shortly after the engagement for those that couldn't make it. Bit of spit and polish and I think it's worthy of submission.

This is a story from a few months back when a few of us decided to try living in a wormhole, we had no experience and very little idea just what we where getting ourselves into at the time. We had found an empty C1 wormhole and proceeded to move our gear through the highsec wormhole only to see it close after a few trips, we had found a wormhole with a lowsec static that just happened to have a highsec wormhole, we managed to get the tower, fuel, defence batteries along with a few ships through and over the next few days we pulled in what we could whenever we had a good static.
It was during this time we had our first visitors in our system, IGÇÖd logged on to see 2 drakes and several wrecks on dscan and proceeded to track them down from the comfort of my covert ops frig. They had ran a few sites and disappeared only for 1 to return in a noctis when my corp mate logged on, I was frantically explaining the situation and was currently sat 100km from the noctis.
My corp mate warped to me to scare the noctis pilot away and try to force them to return for a fight if they wanted the salvage, he then grapped a bait thorax fitted with tractor beams and proceeded to salvage the wrecks. They must have decided that we couldn't have the salvage as they eventually uncloaked and the fight was on.
They had a rapier, an azura and a stealth bomber against a thorax piloted by the only pilot they had seen, unfortunately for them he wasnGÇÖt alone. We warped a tengu in at range and a harbinger and proceeded to test their tanks while the thorax held the rapier down to prevent any escape, as our bait thorax exploded we closed range and kept them pointed while we removed the shields of the rapier, once the rapier was in trouble we split dps and worked the aruza into low armour before killing both in quick succession.
The stealth bomber pilot managed to escape but we had taken out the 2 most expensive ships and where happy to let 1 ship escape considering the circumstances, weGÇÖd been in a wormhole less than a few days but already we had defended it from those who wish to cause us harm. Sometimes a plan just comes together.
While it may be a good story and the story we have always told, it isnGÇÖt the whole story, in fact the only part remotely true is the outcome and what now follows is the true story never told before.
I was following the drakes from site to site, bookmarking the wrecks and hoping another pilot would be online soon, eventually a corp mate logged on as a noctis was salvaging the wrecks, We jumped onto TS3 and I sent the fleet invite out while explaining the situation. I said "do not warp to me" I have the noctis on grid, my corp mate however heard "warp to me" and duly obliged, landing 100km away from the noctis and scaring it off. We where a little disheartened that it had escaped, but it had been our mistake so we couldn't really complain.
I started to scan the system to find where they had come from while my corp mate decided to go and salvage the wrecks they had left behind, we hadn't managed to get a salvage ship in yet so he grapped a thorax, threw the guns into the hold and put some salvage modules onto it. Moments later he tells me he is tackled by 3 ships and we decide to meet them head on, I warp to the POS to reship but can't find my pvp ship, I knew I had brought 1 in with me and after asking on coms I found out it had been turned into a salvager moments ago. I only had a few ships in system so I jumped into my PVE fitted tengu, dropped a module and replaced it with a warp disruptor, another corp member appeared and jumped into a harbinger and we warped to the fight.
The thorax exploded just after we arrived and we managed to spread points onto the 2 force recon ships, unfortunately they where using sensor dampening on us and had pulled apart so we had no choice put to stay in close to each ship and separate our dps in the hopes of killing them before they could kill us, the thorax pilot had the same issue as me in that he had no PVP fitted ship so he returned to the fight in his tengu. My tengu was really badly fit with low skills and really wasn't holding out very well against the 3 ships, I was into armour when the first ship exploded which helped massively and my tank could now withstand the last 2 ships. I burned towards the stealth bomber in the hopes of managing to catch it but he managed to warp away long before I got into range, the second ship exploded and we where left to clear the field.
We had risked everything that day, if we had lost the tengus we would have had to head back into highsec with our heads held in shame, but we didn't, we took the risk and somehow managed to walk away with our heads held high, despite managing to make a massive amount of mistakes. We're still in a wormhole now, and I sometimes wonder if someone or something helped us that day to ensure another group of players enter into the unknown.

Fun in AU TZ: A long time ago at a time when it-¦s pretty quiet on the server. Only a corpie and me online, rolling our static c3. New hole there, he jumps the scanner in and reports: Orca on scan, not at POS! And gone now :-( Well, he might be rolling, so let-¦s scan the holes down. He only finds a stable lowsec but it-¦s very close to Jita, so it might be a shoppingtrip. The two of us start massing down the hole so the orca will close it on the way back. Just as we finish a loki logs in at the hostile tower and cloaks. And the orca comes in and gets pointed by our scangu. Time to see if the loki comes to the rescue. And it decloakes on grid and starts shooting the tengu.Jackpot. We jump our 2 Sleipnirs and 2 other guys over to get on the killmails (Can I bring my Drake? :-)) but with us there is a Chimera landing on grid. dafuq? It manages to keep the Loki alive but we can burn through the Orca slowly. Loki gets to warp out due to failtackle but decides to come back 5 minutes later just to get blabbed this time thanks to a few more pilots by now. Time to shoot drones while we get more peeps in. There might have been yelling in every channel to wake people up and get them to make lots of jumps to get to us. We start to switch ships around multiple times to figure out how to get the carrier down. There was a fair bit of fail happening including an ammorun that got picked up by the carrier. And the quote "He has no drones out, so he must be in triage" At some point someone in alliancechat asks "Where is the carrierkillmail?" "Still shooting it" "But you asked for help almost an hour ago!"... Thankfully the carrier starts SD as we get more people in. I was afraid he might get saved by downtime. And the best part: A friend who just started playing eve a few weeks ago joined mid-carriershooting. His first pvp experience and he got to kill a capital.
