Strange phrase. Anyway.
In our efforts to further our legitimate business interests and to make ourselves more accessible, a small rearrangement has promoted one Laria Raven (me!) to the position of Tribunus.(1)
This means that, should you wish to discuss issues, business proposals, or make complaints you may direct them at one of the following three people:
James Syagrius Laria Raven Leopold Caine
...and hopefully receive similar results in terms of content, if not in terms of style or presentation. Most of my sentences follow on from one another, for example.
We remain committed to a brighter future for the cluster, and work for an end to the hypocrisy and the exclusionary monopolies of power that have led to the continual wars that so blight our shining New Eden.
I apologise to those who have no interest in what is essentially a public service announcement and who yet, for unfathomable reasons, have continued to read thus far.

Congratulations on your promotion Ms. Raven, even if it is as hollow as it seems.
Here's to hoping that you too can invoke Caine's law with ruthless efficiency when it is so required. If only we had more people like Launette Vylier. |

Apparently, not entirely successfully.

I'm sure you're all aware that there are, on occasions, in any political entity or existence, times where events cannot be officially acknowledged. Any event spawns a multiple number of interpretations, each of them at variance in some way - whether it be by emphasis or detail, whether intentional or accidental. It is natural and right to want to control the interpretation for the historical record, surely?
As for the other thing, it is unfortunate that moral standards vary across the cluster, and I apologise for the offence caused by that fluctuation in standards. At times, perhaps, the combination of venue and action was impolitic. Fallen from grace. And as night comes, may flights of Angels visit your sleep... shoot your ships and steal all of your stuff. |

Congratulations on your promotion (?), Ms. Raven.
If I may, I wonder; how is Stillwater's concern with power monopolies not merely a self-interested desire to co-opt the power structure? It's dressed in very nicely anarchic wording-- for those who like that sort of thing --but I've yet to see anything that would put Stillwater's good works on the level of, say, the Sisters, or the Society for Conscious Thought. |

We do not claim to be a purely benevolent organisation like the Sisters Of Eve.
We have undertaken humanitarian actions in the past. We will in the future, but that is not the purpose or intent of the corporation or, to the best of my understanding, the any groups we may have a wider affiliation to.
One can work towards a better tomorrow while taking unfortunate choices that are necessary today. Surely everybody has that balance to deal with? Fallen from grace. And as night comes, may flights of Angels visit your sleep... shoot your ships and steal all of your stuff. |

Could we agree that some parts of that reputation, whatever it is, might be deserved, and some might not be?
And that a step towards rectifying the latter part, and attempting to prevent more of the former, might be appointing a new public relations person? Fallen from grace. And as night comes, may flights of Angels visit your sleep... shoot your ships and steal all of your stuff. |

The best step that you could possibly take towards improving your corporate reputation is venting Leopold Caine's head permanently and replacing him with someone at the very least more personable, if not honest.
Until that time appointing a new corporate mouthpiece is really a futile effort as, as I'm sure you're going to find out in the not so distant future, precedent has been set in stone. If only we had more people like Launette Vylier. |

Those are quite loaded word choices. I shall endeavor to be precise, because otherwise I run the risk of inaccuracy, which would be unfair and untruthful.
Individual members of Stillwater pursue a variety of activities, most of which would not fall into any of those brackets in anything other than the most uncharitable of interpretations. (1) There are some Stillwater members whose complete activities would be regarded as entirely legal and proper in any jurisdiction.
Slavers There are no current organised activities in this area. Stillwater capsuleers do not directly engage in the taking of slaves, nor in the organised transport of such. We have no slave-related activity in Minmatar, Gallente, or Caldari controlled space. Slavery remains legal in areas influenced by the Amarr empire and Stillwater capsuleers have engaged in ancillary activities related to the slave trade. In addition, individual Stillwater capsuleers do have access to some indentured employees.
Drug-dealers There is no Stillwater involvement in the illegal trade of drugs. Some drugs with varying legal statuses are available within the Stillwater sphere of operations. The corporation takes no moral position on this issue.
Piracy Stillwater will act to protect its sphere of operation from interference and espionage. In some cases this involves enforcement outside the bounds imposed by the Empire-controlled CONCORD organisation. We reject the term "piracy", in particular because we do not currently make a profit from this enforcement.
We are not saints, particularly not when judged according to rules imposed by those currently in power, and we are affiliated with organisations that take a looser approach to these matters.

Excuse the crude analogy...But if you take some crap, cover it in bread crumbs and asiago cheese, deep-fry it, and serve it on a plate with some tomato sauce and pepper aioli, it's still a piece of ****.
Thank you.
