Fellow Capsuleers. It is an honour to stand before you once more, particularly with the news I bring. I'm sure those of you who know me are aware of my history, that I served in the Imperial Navy. My service record was not particularly impressive, nor was it all that interesting. I was not the first Ad-Drelana to serve in the Navy, nor even the five hundredth. My father served in the Navy, as did his father and his father before him. The Ad-Drelana family has had a long tradition of serving in the Imperial Navy, in fact I think if you go to any major battle within the last eight hundred years or so where Imperial troops have fought, there has been an Ad-Drelana officer leading, following or getting out of the way. However this event is not about me or my family. This event is a celebration of sorts however. It is a celebration of the courage, commitment and strength of those who placed their lives on the altar of God. It is a memorial to the sacrifice of all those who gave their lives in His service, freeman and slave alike. It is a testament to those who continue to fight to this day, so that one day the Empire will know peace and security on our terms.
This event is the annual Navy Day Officer's Mess Ball, a dinner sponsored by the Ad-Drelana, Khez-Zaram and Mehrak families, and for the first time ever, I am honoured to invite fellow Capsuleers to witness and partake in this event, including Capsuleers of the Praetoria, the 24th Imperial Crusade and all other Imperial loyalists who have dedicated themselves to fighting tirelessly in God's Name. Attendance shall not be barred based on ethnic background, in celebration of the countless Matari who have fought both as slaves and freemen within the Imperial Navy. All those who wish to attend may do so, FDU and TLF affiliates included.
Details of the Event. The ball will take place on the 22nd of this month in the evening, since the summer heat is savage to those who are not accustomed to Mishi IV's climate. An exact time has yet to be confirmed. This is a formal Mess Ball, so formal dress (ball gowns, tuxedoes and Dress Uniforms) will be expected. The location is the Imperial War Museum. This event will be attended by large numbers of Imperial officers and senior non commissioned officers. Those here to cause trouble will be asked to leave. Those who wish to score points against the Empire or argue about this or that, both at the event itself and in the comments section below would be wise to remember that the people you will be meeting have dedicated their lives to the Empire's service and should be treated with respect. They don't wake up after they get blown up after all.
And on that somber note I shall take my leave. I look forward to seeing you all on the twenty second, if you have any questions regarding the event do not hesitate to get in touch.
Warmest regards. Zsaryna Ad-Drelana. My alt has two Gnosis, how does he smell?Awful. |

Small bit of advice,
This attendance policy is unlikely to garner much Imperial participation in your "Imperial" event.

I think you might have a very different concept of 'properly screened' than say, PIE would.

My point being she's neglecting some basic social foibles and making a bit of a faux pas in this area.
If you invite enemies to the same social function, you need to at least pay some lip service to this being an event to build some bridges and lessen hostilities, or for guests to let their hair down, something to that effect.
Otherwise the invitees tend to see the -other- people invited and think "why would I spend social time with those people trying to kill me?" or some such.
Makes for awkward party conversation around the punch bowl!
We can't have that

Inherently the ones that attend despite the lack of reason to are the ones who are most likely to be open to actual discussion with their equals on the other side of the table.
Of course there are some who have a stick lodged so far up their rear that they couldn't possibly try to be a decent representative of their respective navies, as demonstrated by Blake here. If only we had more people like Launette Vylier. |

Addendum. Given the feedback thus far, in addition to security complications, the decision has been made to restrict access to Imperial loyalist organizations and Caldari allies. FDU and TLF pilots will be denied entry. I would like to personally apologize for the confusion. My alt has two Gnosis, how does he smell?Awful. |

You'd be surprised. The Imperial Navy may be large, but that just give more opportunity for some to break away from the fundamentalism. If only we had more people like Launette Vylier. |

Ah, yes, that famed Imperial Navy liberalism...
Ms. Roseburn, militaries are often noted for their conservatism and their deference to hierarchy. While conscripts may run the gamut, volunteers are often drawn to service because of their dedication to the power structure. |

I would note that this social initiative on the part of Ms. Adrelana is solely their own and in no way is endorsed by the Pyre Falcon Defence Combine or any subsidiary thereof.
Off the official record, and on a personal note: Ms. Adrelana I find it strange one would join what is ostensibly a Caldari organization and then engage in the promotion of a foreign power the very next day. I will put it down to ignorance, as opposed to a deliberate act of foolishness, that has caused what is in effect a cultural and professional faux pas. For it must be only through a lack of political and cultural education as regards corporate politics in the State that would lead you to believe that an overt public display of support for a foreign military would be supported by an organization such as Pyre Falcon Defence Combine whose shareholders and clients would see such as unwelcome religious proselytizing at worst or a failure to adhere to the cultural and societal norms of the Caldari at best.
Every employee of the Combine reflects upon its brand, and since religious proselytizing is an undesired association with it, you may consider your current employment under official review, pending termination. I would further suggest, that if a celebration of your Amarrian heritage is desired as part of the promotion of understanding of foreign cultures in an open, progressive and liberal corporate framework in the State I might suggest companies operating closer under the Hyasyoda or Ishukone brand of thinking.
