Hello everyone,
A friend and I have been looking at getting into a C1/2 wormhole and creating a sustainable setup. The goal is to try and create better profitability than Kspace. Once we have a small setup we want to bring in some of the other corp members.
I've gone through a few guides, but cannot figure the best way to get set up. My questions are:
1. I've been an indy forever, so what ships should I start aiming for to fairly solo a sleeper site in C1/2? I'm about 19 days from an assault frigate. Not sure if this is viable.
2. To supplement our fuel needs, is it possible to create a semi-functioning fuel production line in the WH or would it be better to spend that time doing other things and just buy in our fuel?
3. If we find a reasonably quiet WH, how would you suggest we buffer the traffic down some more? I've read that some people collapse certain entrances if it leads to high traffic space. This seems risky. Is this advisable?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Regarding your first question, AFs are definitely viable in both C1s and C2s. I've used Enyo, Ishkur, Vengeance, Wolf and, once, a Harpy (didn't take to it too much, so can't say a lot about it). In my experience, the two Gallente AFs are by far the best. The Vengeance is a little slow, but much more comfortable due to its superior tanking and capless weapons. The Wolf is viable but the least desirable of the lot in my opinion. The tank is kinda weak and it lacks cap.
If you do have a say in the type of hole, I'd recommend that you find a C2 Wolf Rayet. It gives bonuses to armor resists, which is good for all the above types, except the Harpy, and it boosts the firepower of small guns. |

You can't mine ice within W-Space so at a minimum you will need to bring in the ice products into the hole. The PI components can be gathered within your system is the planet makeup is correct.
Along with the ships to run the sites you need to know what it takes to roll your static. Eve Universtiy has a nice table that shows mass per signature and jump. You will want to know what ships you can use to roll your hole. This allows you to 'cut-off' your system while you run indy and sleepers.

1) A drake can handle all of C1, and probably C2 (never ran sites in a C2). http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=WormholeSpace
2) Make PI, sell PI, buy fuel.
3) Depends on the home hole, number of people you have, and the type of hole that opens. https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Wormholes
If you're just starting out, I'd suggest a C1 to get the hang of everything. It limits the size of the ships that can enter your hole to BC and smaller (T3s will be the biggest danger you'll come up against). It's a bit of a pain to stomp the static, but if you have 3 or 4 people helping, it goes by quick enough.
With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Drake can handle anything in a C2. If you have trouble with tank you just need to swap out BCS for Shield Power Relays. Most BCs can handle most of the sites. Drake,Myrmidon, Harbinger and Cyclone being the best options for each race.
AFs can work but BCs are generally better. If you want to be isolated to mine then a C1 is probably your best bet. But the profit margins are very low for any other activity. C2 anoms take 10-20 mins and your average payout is gonna be 5-10 mill.
You'll want to find a C2 with a static to C1-C3. Sites run out very quickly when youve only got one hole to run. If logistics isnt a problem null sec or lowsec K-Space statics are gonna bring the least traffic. |

Pi can be a major source of income wh are the best pi planets available so train all of your accounts for pi skills but you will need to bash the pocp and replace with your own the pi you build that is not fuel related will allow you to buy the ice products be sure to have at least one character able to haul well if you have a static hi sec generally you can use a itty or bestower safely. |

There is another side of w-space life that you MUST consider.
PVP.
It WILL come, whether you want it or not. W-space is true 0.0.
If you or your corpmates are not well versed in PVP, may I suggest taking a course or three from Agony Unleashed.
As a possible side benefit, Greygal (one of the main instructors) has lots of w-space experience as well.
With that said, W-space can be a profitable......and QUITE EXCITING endeavor.
Good luck and Fly It Like You Stole It! |
