lol STO ...
how to ruin a perfectly good IPO in one go the same happened with Star Wars as well, even Bioware fumbled that ball and they are usually pretty good at content.
It's when you factor in MWO & Hawken, that you could start thinking there's a trend moving away from fantasy settings towards sci-fi then you realise, sadly, that for every sci-fi themed game there's about 100 fantasy ones |

Have you tried the new exploration mechanic, 'grab a can' in Eve?

im going to play both. SC as a jump in game.... pew some people for a hour and hop out of game type thing. i was hopeing to play it more but... instances.... $250 ships... only 100 systems.... not a game i will put effort into.
tbh im more excited about X rebirth, i can easily put 1000 hours into those games. |

That one if the made it correct have indeed very big impact in eve however cryptic is a very bad company and rush the game to soon. This was the first mistake let alone to buy to win modules the have now. I love star trek big fan for the series even the new ones but damn the f*ck that up. |

The only game that could compete with this one would be one just like it but without gates and all mining ops done by NPCs that the players own and must defend.
Star Citizen is full of statist tripe that the average Eve player won't take a liking to.

That being said, there are too many of you and it's not even worth argueing anymore. |

In SC, ships will apparently have toilets. So if you decide to have your toon go take a dump, and your ship gets boarded. You may find yourself in a very interesting situation. |

We also wont have this nice Sandbox with so many people around. SC will be Instanced based. I am more looking forward to Squadron 42 Campaign of the game.
How is Eve more tactical? The difference is between selecting to use the right abilities at the right times while the other is maneuvering for superior positioning. The difference is one uses hotkeys and cooldown while the other is twitch based. Both benefit from good coordination and teamwork.

"EvE finally gets competition?!"
I think it's more like EvE gets some competition... EvE's been around for 10 years ( and there's a reason for that), SC isn't even out yet! Lets see where SC is in five years, let alone in 10... |

Star citizen and eve are completely different animals, and many people will be playing both, because, shockingly, people now play multiple MMOs. (Not that SC is an MMO anyway) "Star Citizen will take the best of all possible worlds, ranging from a permanent, persistent world similar to those found in MMOs to an offline, single player campaign like those found in the Wing Commander series. The game will include the option for private servers, like Freelancer, and will offer plenty of opportunities for players who are interested in modding the content. Unlike many games, none of these aspects is an afterthought: they all combine to form the core of the Star Citizen experience." |

Ray Zyrus wrote:Hey so i have been playing even since 2008 and have been a fan all the way. it just had a monopol in the sci fi genre that no other game could offer and it has been that way since 10 years appereantly. But know there is a new kid on the block. its called star citizen! this game is developed by chris roberts (wing commander) and is completely publicly funded (so far 19 million $). im sure many of you have heard about it allready. i myself noticed it a year ago but didnt pay much attention, after all i had eve. but a few weeks back i stumbled ofver it again and was amazed by the progress they have done. in theory it will be the same as eve. you have a presistant universe with a player driven economy and space to discover yet it wont have as many systems or be as complex as eve is now but hey everybody has to start from a certain point. the amazing part is that it has an incredible amount of detail from the cockpit to the real physics engine (cryengine 3) everything you see on your ship or in on the bridge actually has a purpose. the game wont launch untill 2015 but you can allready walk around in your hangar or go into ships and in early december they want to implement a dogfighting arena where you can test your skills agains oher players. i dont want to run a campaign against eve online here because i still love this game. all im saying is that well finally get some competition into this genre which might result into benifits for us players. if you want check out the star citizen homepage https://robertsspaceindustries.com/and please tell me what you think.
Star citizen you say.. well Thank God you have brought this RED HOT NEWS to our attention, I mean it is not like there hasn't been any posts about Star Citizens on the Eve Forums before
Oh that's right there has
