For me it helped shape my career direction.
In college my goal was to do fine art, that's what I was studying.. during this time I played EvE a lot! EvE's awesome API & dev community/resources gave me the push I needed to get involved in web technologies, eg) a lottery tracker, corp forums with the api etc; It linked learning with fun for me.
Anyway's, because of EvE I didn't turn up to university on my first day for an art degree and dropped out to play EvE & make stuff lol. Then about 3 months later I enrolled on a foundation degree which took me into a full degree in Web Development. Now, one year after graduation I'm in a comfortable well paid Web Development job and loving it! :)
If it wasn't for EvE, who knows where I would be with my art degree.. or the friends I would have..
What's your story? .. |

Well, In guess then they gotto thank EVE for not having to put up with you?
Thanks to EVE I just skip all the other MMO's, saved me a nice bit of money. Yay! Stupidity should be a bannable offense.
Also This --> https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=216699 Please stop making "afk cloak" threads, thanks in advance. |

Other then meeting some sound people that is really it.
Well when I say sound what I mean is okay..
When I say okay I mean I tolerate them
By tolerate I mean I would would rather remove my own ********* with a blunt and rusty spoon whilst having Brittany Spears being blasted in my ears and watching all the Twilight Films on endless play them speak to them. |

Well I know what I am doing next time I am in Stockholm... Cheers Chribba! Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

i learned alot about market mechanics and human psychology in that regard. Although the eve market is not the same as RL life the same principles apply in a lot of areas. Ultimately it helped me advance in my career really... i even mentioned eve in my last job interview lol. I learned alot ALOT in this game. I'm offering Graphics Services in EVE like Sig Banners / KB Banners / Animated Videos / Websites and the likes for 150m / hour.
